I share the same sentiments. I, too, have to step away for a while.
I have reached a point where the amount of negativity I've encountered in sifting through the posts looking for some good news and edifying commentary is yielding a diminishing return. I just posted on the Kara Wolters criticism...
Unfortunately there is no humility in your humble opinion.
A truly humble individual would not stand in judgement of a fantastic student athlete who played to her best ability over the last four years. How unfortunate for you that she did not meet your standards. Time for you and others echoing...
This should be required reading for all who care to post their "I know best" thoughts" on the Boneyard. If only those same posters actually heard themselves as others read their words it might prompt some temperance.
This season and the build-up to this game couldn't have been more beautifully scripted. Here's to hoping that the final chapter is the classic happy ending!
I appreciate that all of the subsequent recap articles on ESPN have been thoughtful and somewhat balanced. I am surprised, though, that I have not come across anything in any of the pieces mentioning that they all, across the board, blew their picks on the UCONN vs. Stanford game.
Actually, Stinger, it is not muscle memory. They are just bad habits. Muscle memory is neuromuscular and pertains to the engraining of motor movements through repetition.
I agree. Stanford is seasoned and plays smart team ball, both offense and defense. They are not a one-weapon team and, being well-coached, they can adjust to what a defense gives them. I can see us hanging with SC and pulling it out but I am afraid that anything but a hot-shooting night from...
I noticed it and had to read twice just to make sure she avoided a pick. I scratched my head thinking what's up with that? If what I am reading in the post is true then it brings it to light. How petty. Surprised the editor(s) let her do that.
It also sheds some light on the piece she did on...
You forgot to mention the defense played by the bigs. You can't separate that important component. UCF's offense did not in any way have the upper hand on the inside. They paid for when they went inside. ONO had 4 blocks and Dorka had 2.
Tell me how much better UCF's offense looked than UCONN's...
First off, you list three descriptors, not one. You do know that being tentative or indecisive is not necessarily the same as being scared. Are you presuming to know what is going on in each of their heads? Perhaps they encountered a game situation for which they were not immediately prepared...
Thank you, Joe, but as you said in your intro, the thread is closed but yet you've written a six- paragraph treatise to rehash the various points previously discussed with no chance at further resolution. It's over Joe. Let it go. Coach has got this one.
More dominating than 45 pt. MOV!? Give us a break. Mercer has been making their bones as a defensive team, you know. Sheeesh.
Ralph, there are always things to improve upon but please do not call their first round 45 pt. win, with excellent effort from everyone, after a 10-day layoff anything...
Wow. I don't think we want either of them to stop shooting three's when they are there. I am very confident that Geno wants them to shoot when the opportunities are there. As we go further into the tournament, we will need those outside shots and we want them to have the confidence to take them...
Same here. Just at the awards ceremony afterward.
Even if they did give out a shirt or medal-like trinket to all participants (who paid an entry fee by the way) it would certainly not be equated with an award. It is more or less a memento and something to feel good about.
