Good morning. I am traveling up from Atlanta for the Big East tournament next week. My brother and I were able get all access tickets and we will be taking our father for his 70th birthday. We are all UConn graduates and life long fans. We will be staying a few blocks from MSG. We are eating at...

Top 5 favorite Husky teams ever.

I'm 33 years old and was a sophomore at UConn during the 2005-2006 season. The team had its flaws and never really played up to its potential. They had as much or more talent as the 03-04 squad that won it all with Rashad, Denham, Hilton, Rudy, Marcus, Boone and a freshman Adrien...5 guys that...

    National sentiment

This is just a really poor attempt at a hot-take I hope. You are taking your own perceptions and personifying them onto already well known east coast west coast biases some people have and then attempting to work that into a super specific asinine point.

What if....Benedict to Hurley: “We’ll be in ACC by the final year of your contract”

I do agree with the your point. And it may be the route we are force to go, but what I was suggesting is more of a hope/prayer and a read into what DB was really saying. He has fielded hundreds of emails and heard endless amounts of complaints from the fan base about the conference. So is it a...

What if....Benedict to Hurley: “We’ll be in ACC by the final year of your contract”

If not the ACC then maybe the Big 10. I am completely speculating but after watching the press conference last week it seems DB was emphatic about UCONN's commitment to being an elite basketball program. To hold any really merit behind the claim it can be assumed plans are coming together that...

    Dan Hurley press conference

Anyone else see DB with the "committed to being elite" "wink wink" ....meaning we will find a better conference ASAP

“No Shame in Finishing 2nd to UConn.”

We are not the only ones that lost with conference realignment. We don't have the "safety net conference" some of the other schools have but Maryland, Syracuse, BC and specifically Pitt have all had to readjust expectations. But it's nice to see somebody else take it in the plums for once.

Some Guy: UConn close to signing Hurley

This will not be good. This is such a similar feeling to the days leading up to Lville getting the nod over us to the ACC. We had it in the bag until we didn't. This is just like that in that most saw Hurley as the next coach until the last second....the very name of this thread could be the...

Do you root for URI in the tournament?

For those that want Dan Hurley to be the next coach our team, Are you rooting for a deep tournament run to confirm we are getting a great coach? This could make him appealing to more schools on a national level, driving up the competition and price up on him...or would you prefer quick...

I lived on Irwin Street from 2010-2012 and agree with everything you mentioned. It can literally change from block to block. Boulevard had its issue while a quarter mile away they began putting up million dollar homes.

Industry Tavern is a good spot... you are right about that PBR pitcher and pie from Fellini's. If you miss pizza from Connecticut, try Athens pizza in Decatur.

I would agree with that. The hype surrounding it was greater than the pizza... but what do you expect from a city that is starved for half decent pizza.

Crime. The golf course is incredible, but the surrounding area is tough. Similar to Augusta national....you get outside the gates and it is not the safest place in the city. If you are looking to invest into a "up and coming" area and gentrification is something you are behind then look heavily...
