You are clearly feeling a little emotional and maybe a little triggered and missed the whole point of the post.
Other schools do a better job of spacing the floor putting their players in positions to take advantage of their strengths and do a better job of exploiting mismatches. Our team has...
It's interesting how all the guards Hurley recruited have now all left the program. Do you think it's because the offense Hurley runs is not fun to play in with no spacing and little room to operate?
I should have first stated that this wasn't meant to be an anti Hurley post. I was trying to start a conversation specifically about Hurley's offense that he has been running the last couple years the X's and O's.
The team defense for the most part has been great all year and what has been...
If you were an elite Point Guard why would you want to come to play at UConn with the offense that Hurley currently runs?
I have my own opinions, but I would like to hear other peoples thoughts
You see pretty much run the same offensive sets in both the NBA and college.
In the NBA they just get into them quicker due to the shorter shot clock
The biggest difference has to do with the floor spacing due to the extended 3pt line and defensive 3second rule opens the game up more.

UConn is Currently Ranked 323 out of 350 D1 schools against man to man defense according to Synergy Sports Tech.
And 324th in FG Percentage against man to man
Against zone defense they are 154th
This is all on Hurley and the result of how poor his man to man offense really is.
Everyone is...
Even though Sid had a few highlight plays, he still get's lost on defense. It's probably the biggest reason why he wasn't getting minutes. For example, he was late closing out on shooters in the Wichita game that resulted in 4 3's during the game which is something that Hurley won't overlook.
Hurley's offense just doesn't put players in positions to utilize their strengths and make plays. I don't know how they don't see this when they watch hours of game fill trying to figure out what went wrong. I think it's pretty obvious.
His horns set and weave set they run need to go ASAP
It...
Hurleys offense is horrible and it’s frustrating to watch.
He’s got to stop running that Horns set and that weave action
-Players are never put in position to make plays
-The spacing is AWFU
-Not setting and using good screens off the ball
-No off the ball movement
-The bigs have no business...
NH was a tough matchup because for Carlton because he can’t guard people on the perimeter. His man hit 3 threes to start the game and took him off the dribble a few times as well. I don’t think it had much to do with his offense in this game. Whaley and Akok were the better match ups In this...
I just read an article a few days ago where a couple recruiting experts said he was the player listed outside the top 100 most likely to play in the NBA and I was looking forward to watching him in a Uconn jerseys
Assuming everyone is back. If Gilbert isn’t healthy and Hurley doesn’t bring in another guard we are going to run into the same exact problem we did this year on offense.
If Gilbert is healthy and playing at a high level I think we should win 20+. Having a year of experience and another year of...
What impact does the current NCAA investigation have on Hurley coming to Uconn?
If the school is is using just cause to fire Ollie then there could potentially be major violations that could cost Uconn in the future.
Why would someone commit to something without the NCAA finishing their...
That's why I was asking because there was a post in this thread saying that the Union representative on Ollie's behalf said they are still waiting on a final decision from the NCAA and if there is an infraction they will need to know what category the infraction is?
With Ollie being fired for “Just Cause “
I don’t think the AD would fire him if he didn’t have an idea that Ollie did something wrong but out of curiosity what happens if the NCAA investigation last for another 6 months and they don’t find Ollie guilty of anything?
Can Uconn hire another...
With Ollie out, Akinjo already de-committing, and the rumors of a mass exudes, it's about to get real ugly.
The new NCAA transfer rule that is expected to pass will allow players to transfer and play right away if their coach leave is going to make this real interesting.
What would stop...
We need a true point guard to lead them and without Gilbert we are in big trouble. There is no leader or anyone that can get them into their offense.
Adams is not that guy he’s not making anyone else better
The team can’t run the offense because Adams, Anderson, and Vital can’t get them into...
I love Purvis but I have never seen anyone as athletic as him miss as many layups. He needs to go back to his high school days when he tried to tear down the rim every time he went to the basket. Even if he misses the dunk he would get to the free throw line a lot more in stead of trying to...
The real diffrence was the match up zone was designed to take uconns guards out of the game. They over played the guards out on the outside and even double teamed the ball. They never left bazz or boat the whole second half
They were gonna make someone else beat them
If uconn was gonna win that...
Siva killed them in the past in high pick and roll sets.
The big guys are gonna have to do a great job of hedging out and recovering on the high picks.
The difference so far this year has been on the defensive end. The bigs have done a much better job this year hedging on ball screens and...
I love what I saw out of DD last night. I wish we would get more of that from him.
The only negative thing I can say is after going to a few games I noticed that DD tends to disappear out there sometimes. He often gets caught up making lazy cuts and allows himself the be denied the ball or he...
As ugly as this game was they never gave up and found a way to win. Last years team would have quit when they were down 10.
For them to get killed on the boards like they did and to have our guards start the first half 1-17, and every bounce seemed to go the other teams way you have to be...
I'm excited for this up coming season. I think they are gonna be hungry and fun to watch like the Kemba led team the year before. They always seem to play better when they are the underdogs.
I think the Wolf man will be fine on the offensive end. I am more worried with his D and if he can...
