With Ollie out, Akinjo already de-committing, and the rumors of a mass exudes, it's about to get real ugly.

The new NCAA transfer rule that is expected to pass will allow players to transfer and play right away if their coach leave is going to make this real interesting.

What would stop Gilbert, Wilson, Adams, Vital, and any of the other players from transferring to a school that they have a better opportunity right away?

A dynamic new coach. Tons of PT. A fresh start at a place that's home.

I doubt that goes into effect immediately. More than likely it’s for after 18/19

It won't even be voted on until the summer, so if changes are made to the rule, it will likely be for the following calendar year. And the ncaa does nothing fast

True, if they had to sit a year no way Gilbert, Wilson or Adams leave. If they pass the new rule, anything goes

We knew this was coming and now it's a reality.

I guess we have to wait until we know who the new coach is to find out about the coaching staff like Chillious etc....

A conference with six teams solidly in the tournament, at least one if not two 1 seeds and two very real national championship contenders. Sounds a lot like the Big East to me.
it's not. It's very poorly positioned for the future of college athletics. It's small-time, and not a good landing spot for a University with higher aspirations.

It is going to get worse before it gets better. James Akinjo's announcement is just the beginning. Nevertheless, I think that the change had to be made...for a lot of reasons that don't need to be rehashed here.

Good luck to Coach Ollie. Strap yourselves in, UConn fans, it's going to get real bumpy for a bit.

We'll see.

We are a ways off from being where we need to be no matter who we hire, but if we make a good hire who can convince most of the current roster to stay, we could potentially improve some next year
