I was looking up Kyrgyzstan where they were form, and they look entirely different from the Muslim population of that country. If you do a search with Google Image of "Kyrghyz people" you'll find what the dominant Muslim group looks like. The bombers look like the European Christian minority of that country. Plus, they've been in the USA for well more than a decade and have been through those Cambridge schools.

Understand your point Upstater, but reread my post and realize that it stands on its own without the marathon bombings.

Regarding what the Kyrghyz people "look like" I don't see that as being particularly relevent. We aren't talking about a religion, or a region. We are talking about individuals, about a sub group. That's the point, I'm trying to make.
 
NBC broadcast just said an accomplice is on a Metro North train stopped/surrounded in East Norwalk.
 
It was reported that they were of Muslim faith and one had linked to a YouTube video that showed some type of war or uprising. It was described as the first war or something like that.

I know this info sucks and I tried to rewind the DVR to report exactly what was said. But I cannot for the life of me find it.

I'm sure more will come out that may or may not provide of credibility to what was reported.

My Kyrghyz point was only made to differentiate between a indigenous Muslim people and a European Christian minority.

Now there's news out that the older brother was a convert.

They grew up in Chechnya. Linking to a video about the Chechnya wars would not really mean anything specific.
 
I think when they catch him, they should announce that they violated his civil rights, so they are going to release him at 12:01 p.m. in Copley Square. due to all the overtime, all police will be going off duty in the area at 12:00 Noon for the next 2 hours.

The family was from Dagestan (right near Chechnya) but moved to Kyrghyzstan where the boys were born. The boys are reported by fellow classmates to have attended elementary school in Cambridge, MA.

If I hear one more news anchor tell a reporter to 'please, please be careful', I'm going to race out of my office in search of a reporter to punch.

First reporter says, the second bomber is a student at Dartmouth.

She comes back and says, "Sorry, I was incorrect. He is not a student at Dartmouth, he attends UMass-Amherst. I misread that."

He's a student at UMass-Dartmouth.

Now we have the terrorist expert saying they might have been recruited by a terrorist group as a sleeper cell. One of the best things to do if you're a sleeper cell is to not make Youtube videos about your hatred of America and how you beieve in the end-time destruction of the country. That's the advice I would give my sleeper recruit.
 
No, NBC, Kyrgyzstan is NOT a Russian Republic.

I mean, you gotta be better than that.
 
One thing these live TV events do is showing how incredibly stupid and vapid most news anchors and reporters are in reality.

Most are much closer to Ron Burgundy reading teleprompters verbatim than they are to some utopian Walter Concrike.

Thinking on their feet or reading, interpreting and paraphrasing on the fly are not the strong characteristics of news reporters.

Weird thing is chechens, as far as I can remember, have never committed an act of terrorism against Americans. I definately know they aren't fans of the West, but acts of terrorism from chechen insurgents are usually carried out against russians.

They tend to be redundant when they are not reading from a teleprompter.
 
I feel for them on that front - it's hard to just speak extemporaneously for hours on end.

If anyone thinks it's easy, try it for five minutes.

Anyone hear the uncle? His message to the remaining suspect - turn yourself in and ask for forgiveness. You have shamed, your family, your religion and (region). About what you'd hope to hear.
 
If they do capture the second bomber alive, I hope they bring Jack Bauer in to question him.
 
I guess there was a family disagreement and the uncle basically disowned the father and the two suspects. Guess we know which side of the family was the good side.
 
Was listening to one of the cable networks on Sirius earlier and heard that the deceased bomber was a "Golden Globes champion."

No, that would be Golden Gloves...
 
I don't understand how these two brothers could be responsible for all of this, seems like there has to be more tentacles.
