Stew was great, but you're a little rough on Solo. First, he didn't play much the 1st half because of 2 laughable fouls called against him. But the kid hit big 3s from deep in the final seconds and in OT. Raftery would call that "Onions!"

The lack of aggression comes when he has space at the top of the 3 point line and he refuses to drive and shoot, drive and kick. This is what he used to excel at. Right now instead he stalls the ball and dribbles looking for the offensive play to develop. This is unfamiliarity

Again, we said the same thing with players in the past. He has had big games against tough competition . This isn't him.

Let's hold off on these pronouncements. This board was loaded with this stuff into late January when it came to Tristen Newton. Mahaney just lacks aggression right now and the ball is dying with him. He's going to pick things up eventually, he has to.

What drove Hurley nuts was not the bad calls by the refs, but the way they called the game from the start. Basically calling fouls for people using their feet to play defense. You were rewarded for simply running into a guy that was running (i.e wasn't set). But there were no fouls on all the...

    OT: Best Pizza in CT

Yes, absolutely. They are plum tomatoes like the San Marzanos. Same type of tomato. Bianco di Napoli is the 1 lb version you can get off Amazon, Alta Cucina comes in 6 lb cans. Same pricing. Both are better than, for instance, Cento San Marzanos. We did a blind taste test with many people at my...

    OT: Best Pizza in CT

Everyone's situation with making pizza is different. Oven, humidity, etc., I'm always surprised how big a difference the weather makes as I have to change things up every summer. I use any kind of flour, bread flour, 00, All-Purpose, it doesn't matter, I get similar results. I have found some...

    Teams this year more physical

If people want a rock fight with UConn, UConn goes 11 deep. It won't be a sound strategy. UConn can hack back and force the refs to call it tighter. And if the refs won't call it tight, it'll come down to 3s.

    Mahaney In A Different Role?

I want to see more of what Ross can do on defense before getting to this decision. Ross may turn into a huge force on defense so he'll demand floor time. But right now Ross seems so herky-jerky on offense that I would maybe think of Mahaney moving off the ball so that Diarra and Ball had the...

Why this could be the last trip to the Maui Invitational

Why this could be the last trip to the Maui Invitational

The only real question here is, do you want enough NIL to keep up with everyone else? If you do, then schedule home/away games against Michigan State, instead of going to Maui. Or would you rather take a trip to Maui? Then go to Maui.

    Lebron on Castle

He went at 3 players in that clip and the way he floats in the air allows him to adjust to everything that comes at him. Makes him impossible to stop. Trying to remember the last guy we had who similarly floated in the air like that, and I only came up with one name: Jalen Adams. Incredible...

OT: Iron Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul

Stew- 5 Assists In 15 Minutes Of PT

He's so explosive and dynamic that forwards have a difficult time reacting to what he's going to do when he grabs the ball. He's just too quick for this smaller teams, and last year I remember that even against the top teams, you could always see him using his athleticism to get to balls first...

    Ley Moyne ThoughtZ™

After Alex left with his 3rd foul, the team finally played well without him (meaning he was terribly needed on the floor at all times prior to that, not that Alex was holding them back). Ross, McNeeley and especially Stewart facilitated a lot of shots. They were aggressive into open space and...

    Who is better than us?

Weird that no one mentioned Alabama here, a team that actually ran with UConn for 20 minutes deep in the NCAA tournament. They bring back a lot of their players. One could make a good argument that Alabama should've been the preseason favorite.

Limited Mins as Freshman to Major Contributor

Yes, but Ball is one of those mentioned as making a jump after not playing much freshman year. Ball averaged 11.5 minutes a game and started 10 of them. In that respect, Ball and Daniels are exactly similar.

One adjustment seemed simple: calm down, run the offense at the pace it's meant to be run. Have patience that the play will develop.
