Hey, it's kind of working for the Toronto Raptors this season!Brenda could put 5 wings on the floor at the same time. Now that’s positionless basketball…![]()

She kinda got dealt an unfair hand. She was expected to push and make things happen with little playing time. In some ways like Zia but unlike Zia she didn't get to start as Freshman.I agree. She played fast but a little out of control. That can happen when a player gets little playing time and wants to shine in their few minutes on the court. In a starting role she could be a beast IMO.
How did she get dealt an unfair hand? She’s been there 2 years and couldn’t break into the rotation. After 2 years the two freshmen guards played better defense. If we hadn’t gotten The 4 AA freshmen she may have been a contributor. Once those other girls got there her playing minutes we’re going to be limited. She’ll be a nice pick-up somewhere. She’s a good player but to say she got dealt an unfair hand is just not true. She kinda got dealt an unfair hand. She was expected to push and make things happen with little playing time. Maybe unfair isn't the right word, perhaps a tough hand, even Dawn has said before she asks a lot of Eniya to push the ball and make things happen. I just think she never got the appropriate minutes to really find herself and do it well at this level. The only other players she demanded as much from in that way was Zia and Henderson. Henderson navigated it well and Cooke benefitted from lack of depth her freshman season to get those minutes. How did she get dealt an unfair hand? Raven Johnson was also way ahead of her in the rotation and will be returning. IMO Talaysia Cooper will be ahead of all of them when it is all said and done because of her ability to score the basketball. Not surprised, writing was on the wall that playing time would be tough over the next 2 years with Hall/Rivers ahead of her in the rotation. Should be a nice pickup for whoever lands her.
From what people told me on the Terp boards, Russell wasn't recruited by Maryland.Brenda could put 5 wings on the floor at the same time. Now that’s positionless basketball…![]()
She has reopened her recruitment. That mean that she is no longer committed to Georgia. Her name isn't in the portal because she hasn't attended college yet. Only college students in the NCAA or NAIA are in the portal. I don't think JUCOs are in the portal either.I asked this in another thread and got no answer. Is Barker in the portal or are people just saying she is because Joni Taylor left ? I have seen nothing to indicate she is not a UGA signee......
You prove yourself in practice to get playing time. As long as you prove yourself there, Dawn will give you an opportunity to play, even if you make mistakes when you do. Its the pattern she's followed with all her players.Maybe unfair isn't the right word, perhaps a tough hand, even Dawn has said before she asks a lot of Eniya to push the ball and make things happen. I believe Russell had a smaller margin of error to find herself than anyone else. She didn't help herself either because she wasn't able to pick up the defense that well which is why the freshmen like Hall moved past in the depth chart. Oh well, I kind of saw this coming once Henderson went down and Eniya wasn't even remotely an option. I wish her well and this unfortunately the result of great recruiting.

Ok...so she didn't sign or was released from it and decommitted.....gotcha.....She has reopened her recruitment. That mean that she is no longer committed to Georgia. Maybe not. She just sort of got caught in the middle with SC. She's a good offensive player, but couldn't get the defensive part. Since MD doesn't play defense the way SC does maybe she would be a good fit there. Plus, having used her free pass, she's almost a sure 3 year player that won't transfer. From what people told me on the Terp boards, Russell wasn't recruited by Maryland.

I fully expect that Barker and or Bowles will eventually follow Joni Taylor to A&M. If they don't maybe Florida or possibly Georgia Tech will come into play. Bowles is an intriguing prospect with a good skill set but probably too thick to be a full time wing and too small to be an effective full time PF.Haven't see this mentioned anywhere but while I was watching the Girls High School National Tournament (not Geico) it was reported Syndey Bowles had decommitted from Georgia. It makes sense with the coaching change, and she is a very similar player to Coach Abe's daughter Savannah who days ago committed to the Bulldogs. Not that it matters too much but she and Janiah Barker are very good friends.

There are lots of Terps fans that want her in a Terps uniform. Anything possible.Maybe not. She just sort of got caught in the middle with SC. I believe Latson is still FSU boundI fully expect that Barker and or Bowles will eventually follow Joni Taylor to A&M. If they don't maybe Florida or possibly Georgia Tech will come into play. There is also a McDonalds AA Guard Ta'Niya Latson who also reopened her recruiting when Sue Semrau stepped down at Florida State. She is going to be a great pickup for someone.
6 of the top 10 play for the two teams that played for the championship, so . . .My money is on "5 of the top 10 players" will transfer from the 2021 class.![]()
She’s got a great upside and loved SC. Unfortunately she came in the middle of 2 #1 ranked recruiting classes full of talented guards and really wasn’t getting to play much. Gamecock fans will pull for her wherever she goes (except if she plays us). There are lots of Terps fans that want her in a Terps uniform. Anything possible.
I wonder about that because Joni kind of left them hanging. I would be pissed if my coach spent the better part of two years talking me into "playing for the state school" (Barker) and then left for another gig. Maybe they follow her....maybe they don't....I fully expect that Barker and or Bowles will eventually follow Joni Taylor to A&M. I didn't see this
Didn't the change in the transfer rule go into effect in 2021? Based on the timeframe, I don't think her transfer from Penn State fell into that category.Unless she is a graduate transfer she will have to sit a year as this is her second transfer Penn State (2 Years)- Texas (2 Years) -wherever.
