I'm not sure how to answer that. If money was no issue, I'd cut him this morning. He's a 49m hit to the cap next year no matter if he plays or retires, so if he wanted to come back and Hackett was gone and they got a coach I could maybe get some excitement towards? I mean, I guess? Tough to pay him all that money for, in essence, 7-8 games that meant anything at all.

But, do I want to watch Aaron Rodgers anymore? No.
Do you think he is a positive or negative in the clubhouse. I think he had a lot of positive energy when he got there. Players seemed to like him and respect him. but i think the more they see of him…they realize he is a fraud.

I say cut ties..no more Rodgers drama….i said it was a bad move trom the beginning…and it was.

I think he’s a fraud. All that good will he built early on is gone. The petulant diva took over and he’s a different guy here now.

Winning % as Jets starting QB:

Z Wilson .364
S Darnold .342
A Rodgers .273

How is that friggin possible? Not a single injury of significance on the DL, OL or at a starting offensive skill spot. A better OL than either Wilson or Darnold had. I really don't know how they can't win some of these games almost by accident based off the talent they have vs their opponent.

Anthony Richardson was ABYSMAL all season long. A 48% pass completion %, 4 TD and 7 INT prior to yesterday. His QBR per game leading up to yesterday 29.9, 20.6, 38.6, 17.9 and 35.5 before yesterday's 75.4%.

I'm just dumbfounded how this team could possibly be this bad.

And the Colts have one of the worst passing defenses and they held Rodgers under 200 yards.

It has to be about the team culture. In hindsight…firing Saleh when they did could have killed any chance this season.

I also think Rodgers is more injured that he is letting on.

Curtis Martin is my all time favorite Jet. So naturally that would never happen and if it did would be a failure.

i agree. Martin is an all time class act. i didn’t know he had a desire to get into team leadership…but he seems like a natural. The Jets need to do something different. i love the idea of bringing in someone like Martin.

I read an article yesterday about Rodgers and his average yd per attempt. He’s something horrific like 1 of 8 in his last two games on passes 10 yds or longer including 0 over 20’yds. He started one game like 4 of 10 for 10 yds or something.

Not sure if his arm is shot. If he’s hurt or what. But he’s simply not throwing the ball downfield.

Montana, Manning, and Brady were all football all the time during their active years. Rodgers used to be, but seems like he has one foot in and the other out.

From 30,000 feet, it just seems like Rodgers has a wildly different personality than Montana, Manning and Brady.

Let's be honest. There is no plan left here.

  • Rodgers has to go. I was all for the attempt, the Achilles injury will always be a "we'll never know" item, but without any shred of a doubt....he's not the answer.
  • Davante is here because of him and looks like he's leaking oil himself. No reason to keep him around either.
  • I haven't even noticed a single down where Hassan Reddick has made any difference. He's gone.
  • Garrett Wilson? Breece Hall? By the time their rookie deals expire, we'll be in full blown rebuild. Maybe you keep one of them?

  • GM, Head Coach, OC and DC are all going to be new. Our owner will likely be overseas the next 4 years.
Who in their right mind would sign up to join this mess? Rex Ryan would....but that's a step backwards and more circus than solution. I'd like to think Belichick's ego is so huge, this is the perfect spot to come in, gain complete control, rebuild the unfixable mess and stick it to Kraft.....but let's be honest, even he knows this is too big a job. If I'm a coordinator at a Detroit, Houston, Kansas City, etc....why wouldn't I stay there and play for a title as a coordinator?

An utter and complete disaster.

Beliichick hates the Jets…no way that happens.

You forgot to mention they have no QB in the near future….the draft for QBs isn’t great…and you know the Jets…they will win out the rest of their games and end up drafting 15th. best FA qb out there is Darnold….sigh.

I still like the Curtis Martin idea.

Ii saw in the Athletic today that Woody suggested benching Rodgers earlier this season after the Denver loss.

I think we don’t know just how dysfuntional this organization is.

Belichick was concerned about culture in the post-Hess era when he resigned as HC of the NYJ. Rumors of the Cowboys and Jags notwithstanding, why would he go to the Jets when it appears his concerns from 2000 have been confirmed? Besides that, the Jets are a dumpster fire and are in need of a complete tear down and rebuild. Not exactly a great fit for a control hungry Septuagenarian with questionable draft/player acquisition history.

Adams and Rogers are both signed through 2025 (along with 42 other Jets players) and will account for nearly 60M in dead cap, if they are cut. They aren't necessarily in cap hell. That designation is reserved for New Orleans, Cleveland, and maybe Seattle, but they are ranked in the bottom 1/3 of the league in terms of free 2025 cap space.

Of course there are those who believe that the Salary Cap doesn't matter, but the Jets need only to look down the hall for an example of what an albatross contract or two can do to a franchise.

I'm not saying Belichick ever would entertain it. BUT...if he ever really wanted to supreme flex and show the world (and TB....and Kraft) that he was always the lynchpin of the Pats dynasty, taking the Jets (and how terrible they are right now) and have them win a Super Bowl under his tutelage is the ultimate way of doing that.

Name another way to make that point more emphatically.
