The Official 2024 NY Giants Thread

This defense is legitimately good. This offense on the other hand...
No Nabers, no Singletary and an inconsistent QB.

That being said, Tracy Jr. should be the team's starting running back moving forward, right?

Exactly why you don't pay a back. It can't be one guy getting the carries but ya Tracy should be starting.

The loss of Nabers hurts but the offense didn't even have to be great last night, mediocre would've gotten it done that red zone int was the game. As a qb in your 6th year you shouldn't be getting outperformed by rookie qbs. Jones still staring down receivers not even looking downfield he had that Theo Johnson open on that 4th and 2 play from midfield, Jones stopped throwing to him.

He rarely goes through progressions, he has such bad tunnel vision.

Not having Nabers hurts tremendously, especially as Hyatt seems to have no desire to fight to get open or make a catch.

Not having Singletary is a net gain as a) he was never anything special and b) it gave Tracy an opportunity.

It still irritates me that we gave away BJ Hill for an offensive lineman who was about to be cut by one of the few teams that had a worse offensive line than we did.

NY sports on the rise then you have the dumpster fire that is the Giants, Jones will get benched this year one would think or some phantom injury coming and hold him out from further embarrassment as he still has no tds at home. Maybe you should play Jones to ensure a top pick in the draft.

Does Mara fire Schoen tonight?
No the Jones contract has the Mara’s finger prints on it I guarantee it. The rest of the roster has looked better aside from qb.

Does Deej maybe have one of those injury clauses that prevents them from playing him the rest of the year?
Regardless if he plays... I was thinking they were on their way to a perfectly sucktacular 6-7 win season, but looks like they could possibly outperform and wind up at only 3-4 wins? ...top 10 pick, use it+ _____ to get K Cousins...one can only hope

Yeah next year goes from $23M and an easy cut to fully guaranteed if he gets injured, so he's going to be benched soon. Hard pass on trading their pick for Kirk Cousins though

Barring injury, there is very little evidence to supporting Danny Dimes returns to the Giants next season and the more he plays, the longer he's going to have to stretch the $80Mil he's already pocketed. The only reason Jones is playing now is his contract, but what's the difference? The Giants have to pay him anyway. Ironically, the more he plays the higher the chance he gets hurt, which triggers more guaranteed money, if not significantly hampers the team's ability to get out from under that albatross of a deal.

Earlier in the season, I said he was playing for a backup role on another team. At this point, he'll be lucky to be signed as an Emergency 3rd QB, which is actually more unlikely due to PS ineligibility.

The Giants are not making the playoffs and there is no downside at this point to turn to play Drew Lock...starting in Week 10 of course (with Washington coming to town.).

Anyone else as pissed off as I am that fox 61 now prioritizes the pats over the giants. Tomorrow’s game is at least the second time this year the giants aren’t on network tv (3 or 61) and a couple times last year. Are the Pats really more popular in ct than the giants? In the old days ( with antennas) would at least have had the option of watching fox5 out of nyc but now for most of ct nyc channels are not available thru cable. Personally I have the Sunday ticket but many of my friends and relatives are getting shut out of giant games. As usual seems things are set up to protect the corporations and to hell with the public.

Isn’t that a good thing, all I gotta say is tank for CAM WARD.

Quoting a text I sent to a fellow Giant fan about 45 minutes ago:

We need a QB. We need to improve our offensive line by a tremendous amount. We need to add three or four quality starters on defense. We need a new coaching staff and we need to replace our GM and the rest of the front office.

Other than that we're in good shape.

I'm very curious as to why Daboll is so opposed to extra points.

I also wish someone on the coaching staff understood basic math. By not calling a timeout after we stopped them on first down (with about 2:45 left) they were able to run the clock down to where there was no difference between running or passing on second down (as the game clock would be below two minutes, therefore the two minute warning would be called regardless), allowing them to pass and basically end the game with the completion.

If we called a timeout there, we would have had only to worry about the run and could have forced a punt before the two minute warning.

There's a laundry list of stupidity running the show for this team.
