The Official 2024 NY Giants Thread

If the Giants draft Abdul Carter with the third pick, they had better have a trade already in place where someone is willing to overpay for either Burns or Thibodaux. A DE (who is really a pass rushing OLB) is far from a pressing need for this team.

The defense needs at least one CB (Banks has talent, was a head case for a while, then after returning from witness protection appeared to have his head screwed on straight) and I would love someone close to Dexter Lawrence's profile lining up next to him.

Shy of trading people away we have no need to draft an edge rusher, WR, RB or safety earlier than round four and I don't believe we have a pressing need at inside LB.

Everything is a need for this team, Thibodeaux hasn't improved since his rookie year. Drafting Kadarius Toney over Micah Parsons how did that go, because ya know need.

Thibodeaux was quietly better this year, but I agree with the overall premise of not passing on Carter because of it. All 3 of those pass rushers could easily play together

This might sound unfair but Kayvon should be an all pro right now, pro bowl level at least. His production just isn't good enough for his talent.

This would be right up there as the most Mara of Mara decisions.

More like a Jerry Jones type of decision, Kirk Cousins would be more of a Mara type of decision.

That would be a horrible decision. But when the alternative is trading up to #1 I don't love any option

Giants really put themselves in this predicament by screwing up the tank job in the Jayden Daniels draft. There's pressure for Daboll and Schoen to win in year 4, realistically need to rebuild, then you can't sell that to your fans and the veterans on your team by starting a rookie qb who may be a bust to begin with. Could still draft a qb in rd 2 and have him sit for a year as you should with most rookies.

I don't trust the Giants to be buyers at the same the rebuilding looks like the 50 year rebuilding plan lol.

I was on board with taking a QB round 2 for awhile. I wanted Jaxson Dart but now it sounds like he'll go top 10.

My hesitation with a QB round 2 is he'll sit for a year as he should, the Giants will suck again, and Daboll and Schoen are fired as they should be. Now do you force your next coach/GM to work with a QB they didn't take? Probably not. So I'm starting to feel like a round 2 QB ends up as a wasted pick

Just curious what Giants fans want to happen? Free agency will be interesting.
Russell Wilson?
Darnold?
Trade for Cousins?
a veteran backup and draft Sanders?
Trade back from 3 and take Dart? (this maybe the smart move)

As a Pats fan picking next, I have to admit this draft has a lot more possibilities than most.

Right now I'd say my top choice is a trade up to 1 for Cam Ward assuming they don't need to move next year's 1st in the deal and then sign someone like Justin Fields or Jameis Winston. If they can't get up to 1 then take Abdul Carter and take a QB next year when they have a top 2 pick again

Has the Rodgers smoke dissipated? Dabol and Schoen seem like they are going Veteran QB in an effort to save their jobs. I don't think they can afford to throw a rookie QB into the fire and have him fail. This is not a good draft for QBs to begin with.

The Giants have a lot of holes and may not be able to afford a trade up to #1. At any rate, I think Ward and Carter go 1-2 in either order. Coming out of the weekend, it sounds as if Shedeur would not be talked about in the top 10 if his last name weren't Sanders.

The more I think about the more I want Rodgers, he's a year removed from the Achilles injury don't have to give up any picks and I kind of wanna see Giants fans and wfan flipping out at least it won't be boring.

Get a god damn qb and win yes the line isn't great but it's not god awful does the qb need 5 minutes to throw the ball lol.

Yes the Giants need to rebuild but my god it shouldn't take a lifetime every other franchise has rebuilt their team in a nanosecond. The roster isnt as bad as the past qbs have made it look, their not a 2-14 bad roster.

Fields under Daboll intrigues me. I really wanted the team to acquire him last trade deadline.

To me, it’s a coin flip between Fields or a traditional QB who could mentor the 2025 draft pick.
