It amazes me how this get folks nuts in a bunch. Take off the rose colored glasses, Cooley is going a good job up there, good for him and them (admittedly, the verdict is out on this in-game coaching acumen, but he's making PC relevant with recruits), I could care less, I'm more focused on what we are doing to get better. I don't have time to worry about what some other school is doing be it PC, UNC or Fort Valley State. They're somewhat similar position to where UCONN was before Calhoun took the reigns and it's not impossible for them to get better and become relevant. If it happens it doesn't mean UCONN gets worse. I'd welcome the competition, stronger competition makes everyone better.

That said I will never understand why people go to another teams board to turd stir. I don't have time for that rubbish, I have enough live confrontation in my real life, why the hell would I invite more of it through some internet forum.

PC didn't beat us for Croshere

Just musing here, when was the last time they beat us for a SIGNIFICANT recruit? Austin Croshere picked us but we told him to delay because we wanted Kirk King.He had a fine career and played in the NBA with Pacers. Help, can't remember anyone else. Gomes nobody wanted and TW had his arm twisted to take AND play him. (How'd that work out?)

My recollection is that Croshere came out from California for a visit to UConn and JC basically told him he no longer had a ship (Kirk King) and JC called Rick Barnes and asked him if he would take a look at AC, so he drove to PC and committed. People at PC may rail against JC (jealousy) but JC always supported PC, their coaches and especially Gavitt.

Way to leave out any context man, that line had to do with a couple people saying that anything less than a NC is a disappointment. I stated that it incredibly rare for any coach to succeed a legend and have the same success and I also said that I didn't doubt that Ollie may be the guy to do it.

I was simply saying for the guys demanding NC's that I think they may not be here in a few years. I would never define Ollie's success by winning NC's. If you do then you might be disappointed, you also may not. That is a stretch to take that and make it to be me saying that Ollie can't succeed. Are you ever going to contribute to any of this or just continue to be an ? Or just follow me around trying to piss me off? Your fellow posters surely have gotten your point by now.

If you want a good laugh head over to the Boneyard. They're freaking out over Abu and Chukwu. Funny how fast things can change. If Cooley can reel these guys in, there is no doubt that he will have established himself as the premier recruiter in New England. Also, is it just me or is Kevin Ollie nothing special (comparatively speaking)?

Saw this coming from a mile away. Told everyone Ed was taking back the region from uconn and that's what we are seeing.

Man it kills me that we're not playing UCONN anymore, you can feel the anxiety over at the boneyard over their recruitment. Looks like we'll have to see them in the NCAA tournament hopefully but Cooley has to keep working the home and home though, that would be epic going forward.

Who cares, let's be honest Providence hasn't been relevant in a very long time and Cooley is showing that he is a big time recruiter, PC fans have a reason to be happy for once. I wouldn't like losing any recruits to them but there are enough great recruits in New England to share and we all know we have recruited nationally/internationally forever. I support New England basketball and despite some of their fans being annoying I will support Providence as long as we aren't playing them.

There's no point in any interaction with them at all. The problem is they are entering threads dedicated to recruits and they are mucking them up. It's fine for them to say anything at all in any other thread, but when you're interested in a specific recruit, and instead you get a 5-10 page PC-UConn craziness, it's really a drag.

I dont believe that Cooley will stay in the Pee. Yes, he's a Pee guy, grew up in Pee but if he has success there he will be wooed out of the festering Pee by a basketball school. They wont pay him and he wants to hit the big time. He still has lots of connections at BC, its close to him, part of NE and Donahue has about worn out his chances there. Not that BC is a basketball school but its got allure.
