Tyhat can be inferred, but there's nothing to say he asked them to cheat or that they cheated, since the talk earlier is of Brady getting angry at them for allowing 16 PSI balls past the refs.

But how is that different from someone literally telling people that he had balls overinflated?

Again, as with Spygate, the Patriots are in trouble for getting caught doing something other teams did. But in this case, the AFCCG numbers dont show anything.

Look at the damn ball that triggered all this: 11.75, 11.45, 11.35. That's evidence of something?

I go to games all the time. Half the fans are my age or older, or half are younger.

Wow! I'm still amazed that this era of excellence has progressed when everybody on offense is below average other than Brady. Surprised they didn't use Tom Terrific on defense too. Can't think of another dynasty where the proponents insist on denigrating the rest of their offense to further elevate their star. Talk about fan-boys.

Wow, stunning to see you can't hold two ideas in mind at the same time. They are both a hired gun and have useful data. I have no problem with their report. If you ask me about their absolute certitude that smoking tar does not cause cancer, I'd say they are probably wrong about that.

If you try to slot this on a list of cheating offenses it can be difficult. Some might say that this is not much worse than a pitcher scuffing or loading up a baseball, but one pitcher on an MLB team doesn't have a quarterback's influence on his team's outcome the way Brady does. He could have just admitted it but they never do, do they? When asked if he cheated his response was "I don't think so", not " no of course I didn't cheat". That says a whole lot right there. 30 hours after the report was released Brady said he hadn't time to read it, right. A 200 + page report is released accusing you of something, and you're too busy to take a glance? He gets to keep it and maybe he doesn't care but Tommy Touchdown just lost the shine on his Super Bowl ring and his character.

Mau, just the opposite. To the extent that balls did exactly what they were supposed to do given the weather conditions the rest is all noise.

I'm surprised that the Pats have been so passive. I suspect an agreement has been reached regarding any prospective sanction.

Walt Anderson thinks he used the gauge with the higher readings before the game. He says this a couple times. The investigators keep asking him about this until he finally allows that this is possible.

In a footnote, the Wells people actually ascertain that he very likely used the lower reading gauge, in order to widen the numbers for the balls.

Is this not an example of what I'm talking about from the Wells team? They have a huge bias in this.

Complete BS.

First off, the streak of Patriots sellouts began 8 years before Brady.

Beyond that, there are hundreds of games on youtube of the Patriots in the 1980s showing a full stadium.

The down years attendance wise occurred in 1990-1992, the Rod Rust and Dick McPherson era when the team was getting ready to move to St Louis. Similar scenario to Karmanos and Hartford.

Over 10 teams have more than that, it is not accomplishment to show up 8 times a year when you are winning.

When you were losing the facts are clear, no one went. 4th lowest attended NFL game in history? Pats home game.

I went to Patriots game in the 1970s. Foxboro was jam packed.

It was like this until the end of the Berry years. After that, Kiam and Orthwein got their mitts on the Patriots, and started moving them to St. Louis.
 
Im not a Pats fan at all but this whole thing is super stupid. The NFL investigators are being self serving. Wagging the Dog from their other problems. The report doesn't prove anything. And the rule about the footballs is stupid to begin with. Who cares. Its a witch hunt like Uconn went through.

As a Giants fan with 4 SBs, more playoff appearances then any other team, 2-0 v. Pats in SBs, and no Spygate or Deflategate I am nothing like a Cuse fan. Just someone who was around and there in the 80s and early 90s and saw it with my own eyes. the blackout record and attendance figures speak for themselves. Not what you saw on youtube.

Belichick was cheating back then, no way! Of course he was cheating, other locker rooms have to hide everything because the guy sends moles in to steal sh_t. People didn't know Brady was cut from the same cloth that's why his lying has become a big story.
