@Kolumbo, mate, you're thinking with your heart, but Allstate and the Big 12 ain't thinking with their heads...they can and most certainly will exclude the northeast. They just don't need us as much as we need them, wish it wasn't true, but that's our reality. An Allstate sponsored conference needs a member further east than Morgantown. Maryland ended the season ranked 5x in the 70s, 3x in the 80s, and 4x in the 2000s. They have 9 ACC championships. In my opinion, they just need the right coach to help motivate the alums to increase support. Rutgers has a poorly run administration and athletic department which hampers their athletic teams. You know they joined the Big 10 in 2014, right? How long is long term? Other than a brief burst in the early 2000s Rutgers has been pretty dreadful. Maryland, other than a few teams under Fridgen has not been a significant player since the 1980s. I believe they have 1 outright ACC championship. They too have been a mess since joining the Big 10. They don’t draw crowds. They are the 3rd option behind 2 NFL teams in their region.
The great fallacy of CR. Everyone wants to move up and get into a better conference. When there were 6 BCS conferences most teams had a legitimate chance of competing within the conference and perhaps winning a conference championship. Ruttie and Maryland could very well be better programs today than they were 10 years ago but they are in the Big Ten. They are not winning a conference championship anytime soon. Heck Ruttie tied USC last year for the #9 spot. Not bad at all. There will be anomalies, like Indiana finishing 2nd while Nebraska, Michigan State, Washington, Wisconsin finished in the bottom half. All this CR is better for the bank. Not better for the fans. As has been pointed out, some teams have to finish in the bottom half. Most are playing to make a bowl game rather than a conference championship or CFP.Maryland ended the season ranked 5x in the 70s, 3x in the 80s, and 4x in the 2000s. They have 9 ACC championships. Yes. They know that the b12 isn’t inviting UConn soon if ever.
OMG we have the dislike button back!Yes. They know that the b12 isn’t inviting UConn soon if ever.
I don't know if this is worth following but OU comes in at 8 while UConn is up to 12Who can better position themselves in the G6? Ohio University is getting a lot of love. The defending MAC Champions, the Bobcats are 4-1 against the Big 12 in their last 5 games played after defeated WVU this past weekend.
The Ohio University Bobcat team with (Parker) Navarro at quarterback? They’re a good team. They might make the College Football Playoff,” McAfee said. “They had us completely in shambles out there. To be fair, West Virginia losing to Ohio — not fun. That was not cool. Ohio University, really good team.”
One of McAfee’s co-hosts described Ohio as “the ’Bama of the MAC,” to which McAfee replied: “Right now, definitely, and there’s a chance they make the College Football Playoff.”

Probably, but it's still a claim no other school can make. That's pretty damn cool. That factoid and $4.50 will get you a coffee at Starbuck's. And it does nothing for UConn getting in to a P4 conference.
Basketball keeps the UConn name in the news. Some schools have nothing going for them. That factoid and $4.50 will get you a coffee at Starbuck's. And it does nothing for UConn getting in to a P4 conference.

Well, if our hopes for conference realignment are hinged upon decision makers reading the key tweets thread, things are even worse for us than I thought.True and on the basketball boards it's neat to peacock around with that claim.
On the conference realignment boards under key tweets? Doesn't move the needle a bit for those UConn is trying to influence.
