Good for us. One less potential PAC target off the board. Hopefully they can only get to 8 full time members.
I'm guessing its close to double the money.I saw that earlier today but many of the comments suggest this guy isn't very reliable.
Nevertheless, I was curious what the odds are that Texas State accepts. It could wait for the PAC or choose to stay in the SBC. I'd take the Sun Belt but we don't know what the MWC will be offering.

That's hilarious because no program that isn't hamstrung by massive fees has anything that close to $60M (today) to be a 2026 addition. Memphis, ECU and UCF are the only hamstrung ones that check that box. Tulane and UNT don't check that box either though they are quite a bit closer than us but...maroonandgolden.com
Build it near intersection of Route 32 and Route 44Someone should tell Dave Benedict not to even mention Horsebarn Hill as an option for a football stadium on campus. There could be a massive protest by those who want to keep it pristine. There are so many other locations if the go-ahead is given.
Again, if you're going to undertake the time and expense to build an "on campus stadium", maybe it makes sense to actually build it on campus?Build it near intersection of Route 32 and Route 44
I agree. I’d be at every game in Myrtle, Boone, and Atlanta. They are all within 4 hours from me.Sun Belt for Football only might be fun.
The entire country is the region in this stupid nonsense. So……
Who does the PAC think they are going to get? MWC is taking all the viable teams in the region.
This was another reason the PAC botched this. They needed to take enough teams so that the MW was left for dead. Instead they allowed a close competitor to survive and nab schools they would’ve wanted. So……

Yeah. It seems like they were overly confident in their position yet again. Sitting in their laurels while MWC snatched thre programs they figured would always be there for them. This was another reason the PAC botched this. They don't need to, but they currently have divisions and may want to keep the divisions. Why does the SunBelt need to add a school? They’ve got 13 if Tx St leaves. Neither LaTech nor WKU move the needle, have notable programs, nor are located in significant markets.
I'm calling a BE flip 2.0 for Boise and SDSU. Just like it was a "done deal" with them going to the BE years ago, I think it's going to end up being a "done deal" with the PAC until they decide to flip back to the MW. Those MW teams have to be questioning their choice.....So……

Why? Yes, things have not gone exactly according to plan, but the group in the PAC 7 are a much better and much more appealing group than the remnant MWC. I’m sure they’re bummed about losing out on Texas State, but let’s not pretend Texas State is a premium brand because demand for them is high - if they were, they would have already been in a conference.I'm calling a BE flip 2.0 for Boise and SDSU. Just grab New Mexico State and call it a day I say. No need for an expensive buyout and they're in the footprint.Their issue is their remaining target schools can’t afford to pay a buyout. And they aren’t so good that it’s worth the debt. Plus they have a pile of money and everyone has their hand out.
If they were considering NM State as a possibility, they would have gone for UTEP? 40 miles apart but in a way bigger city, higher ranked school with more history and a better stadium, part of one of the top university systems in the US.Just grab New Mexico State and call it a day I say. Yeah, I get that. They’re in a bit of a bind. Still a way better set of prospects together than back with the leftovers and UTEPTheir issue is their remaining target schools can’t afford to pay a buyout. But if they are off to the Mountain West cause the MWC offered them better terms, go get NMSU. There really isn't a game changer school they can add for all sports, so might as well grab a state school in your footprint. If they were considering NM State as a possibility, they would have gone for UTEP? 40 miles apart but in a way bigger city, higher ranked school with more history and a better stadium, part of one of the top university systems in the US.
Poor UTEP and New Mexico St still can't get a MW invite
