Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

Does any member of your super-duper, wins-all-the-championships conference have as many championships as UConn since 2010?

Huh? Now that I have thought about it...If the Huskies are that good, I wonder about who should be wearing the dunces cap?

Yes...UConn's Women's basketball is a great program....a dynasty

And yes, UConn has had two men's NC's since 2010....both in a major. Not bad

That's about the same as Duke....

Your post is an answer in and of itself.
Yeah but your empty threats when the thread goes off the rails are now rendered emptier. "Other thoughts" could be interpreted reaaaaaaaly broadly.

In one swift edit, I have legitimized thousands of posts in this thread.

I'm like a internet Moses leading non-key posts out of exile and you want to argue with me?

Prepare for locusts, bitch.

Does the "Other Thought" have to be "key" or is the key-criteria only necessary for tweets. Because I've been thinking that I'd like to get a solid chicken parm sub for dinner tonight, but my wife would then question my diet discipline. Just putting that out there. Please remove if the thought has to be key.

Great. 40 years of wandering the AAC before getting to the land of Milk and Honey and Cornfields. Thanks a lot Moses.

This is not accurate.

The ACC has a lot more NCs than 14 since 2010.

Three in women's field hockey (UMd 2010, UMd 2011, Syracuse 2016)

One in men's cross country (Syracuse 2016).

One in women's golf (Duke 2014).

Two in men's tennis (UVa 2013, 2015).

Two in rowing (UVa 2010, 2012).

Might have missed some others, but add at least 9 to the total you came up with.
This is the post that finally got your attention? I believe the ACC forfeits all ownership of titles won by MD. Or just keep claiming them, like those lame ACC football commercials claiming Larry Fitzgerald and other former BE players as ACC products.

Can't have it both ways...the ACC doesn't claim Louisville's 2013 basketball NC...they were not in the ACC....but Maryland was.

Colorado State AD says there's no need to lobby Big 12. Strong program will sell itself #CSURams
Colorado State AD says there's no need to lobby Big 12

>>CSU isn’t openly lobbying for a spot in the Big 12 or any other Power Five conference, athletic director Joe Parker said Tuesday.

But by continuing to pursue a goal of having the best athletic programs in the Mountain West, the Rams will position themselves to be an attractive candidate should one of those conferences choose to add members, he said.<<

Colorado State AD making Warde-like statement... but just as UConn has likely gone through back-channels I'd bet CSU has too.

NCAA Championships from 2005-2015

ACC: 47 (10, yes 10, of those belong to Maryland)
B1G: 65

Adjusted for Maryland (ran out of time here)

ACC: 37 + (whatever Louisville, ND, and ? have)
B1G: 75 + (nebraska, Rutgers (0), UConn (as soon as they join))

Hopefully my math was right. Source: Category:Lists of NCAA national championships by conference - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm pretty sure the ACC was claiming both UL and Cuse's championships in advertising during the last tourney. Home of 7 of the last 15 national champs, something like that.

Boom.

The best sports' conference is UConn.

Big 12 Expansion Rumors: Either UConn or BYU Will Be Invited To Join The League: Big 12 Conference expansion ...

I don't know who she is, but she looks like a key tweeter to me.

I can't tell if this is a Key Tweet or an ad for Viagra.

Either way, fantastic new thread title.

I hope they also claim to have the best little whorehouse in Kentucky ...

I'd like to think the only company who's check matters to the Big 12 is the one based in our backyard. Of course they have actually screwed UConn more then helped, so don't hold your breath.

So much for that...;) Be interesting to see details of the FedEx piece.

U of M to invest $500 M in push for Big 12 expansion
University of Memphis, in Big 12 pitch, pledges $500 million in spending, FedEx involvement
I feel like we heard about them doing this when they wanted in the Big East/AAC....last I checked, they were added and still play in a craphole stadium with nothing dumped in from FedEx. Honestly, I have no clue why FedEx even cares about UMemphis.

I see less of a reason to add Memphis as I do in adding Houston. I see zero reason to add Houston if that helps frame how little see Memphis being an addition in expansion.

The ESPN.com report also says the U of M vowed to make a $500 million investment in academic and athletic infrastructure during the next five years — an amount that president M. David Rudd has publicly touted, including in a December 2015 blog post, as already under way.
Hah! We've already spent billions and doing exactly that.
Too little, too late Memphis!
Bwaah ha ha haaaa!

Wow. Dude was at Syracuse for like five minutes.

@DanWolken how are the quality of AD jobs perceived, based on strength of FB and Basketball? Is Minn a better job than Cuse?

Dan Wolken ‏@DanWolken · 24m24 minutes ago
Mostly based on overall prestige and budget. But also personal considerations play a role. Minnesota = B1G = $$$$

Greg Flugaur‏@flugempire
@DanWolken Coyle also worked at University of Minnesota as Assistant AD in early 2000's.

Minnesota is a train wreck right now. Richard Pitino and the bball program are a royal mess, and they have him locked up for like 7mm more. There was an article the past couple days in the Minnesota paper about it.

From a different perspective, perhaps a great opportunity for Doyle to be a trusted hero while cleaning up the ex-AD's sexual abuse issues, Pitino's financial misdeeds, his players' sexual abuse issues, transfers, etc. Looks like a well-compensated, great career decision, and sound escape from Syracuse!

Bohls: Standing pat, not expanding, is best for the Big 12

"The talent pool for expansion is shallow and unimpressive. The Big 12 would be better served to stand pat and maybe just add a football championship game because it would retain the round-robin format, the one true championship format that is fair and conclusive. By sticking at 10, the current members do not get smaller slices of the pie than they would with 12 or 14 schools, and a title game adds the apparently precious 13th data point and helps the league’s College Football Playoff chances. … Still not sure of the viability of a Big 12 Network because the consumer seems in no mood to shell out extra dinero for, say, a Kansas-Iowa State football game. You have noticed the downsizing at ESPN, right?"

Adding two schools does nothing to fix the Big 12
