Never heard of it. Just checked it on Portnoy’s OneBite app and people seem to adore this place. Seriously sharp looking pies. Now I have to visit and side-by-side with Roseland.

Tolland Pizza has the best eggplant parm I have ever had—a little hole-in-the-wall Greek place. I don't even like eggplant, and this is exceptional. YMMV.

Excellent rec. My wife is veg and loves a good eggplant parm. That's her go-to crave when sick and we hit up A&S.

I mean, I am far from a connoisseur, but theirs is next-level delicious to me. I used to drive 45 minutes to get trays of it for various holidays, and my cousins would always bring it to family gatherings, etc.

I believe it is at the same location as the old Derby Pizza House on lower Main Street.

Although on the main it’s easy to miss. Definitely better than decent the few times I’ve gotten take out from there. However their clam pie was disappointment

outstanding, as usual ... devoured 1/2 of one, and the rest is going in the fridge and freezer for days to come, ha

I have lots of great pizza places in my hood in Fort Lauderdale, but it's such a treat to order Pepe's, especially when they do a 2-for-1 special w/ Uber Eats delivery

Yup. Just went to their order site. It listed $38 for an 18” pepperoni pie. Maybe value isn’t the issue and I know prices aren’t what they used to be but 2 large pizzas for $80? Is it worth $60 more than 2 of the same size and type from Costco? ( yes I just got one and it was great).
Without the discounts you got are you still going to order from them?

You are a pizza snob, but I ask what are the exotic ingredients that differ that much? We’re talking flour, yeast, a bit of sauce on some, cheese and toppings. I don’t think we are talking about Bonanza vs Ruth Chris here but it’s JMO.
But I do “tune up” Costco pizza at home to make it better. And yes I’ve had Pepe’s, Sally’s, Ernie’s….,,

I have to agree. Though Costco pizza is much more affordable and good, I would not consider it "great". But no to #shutdownthepizzathread, lol

Any mom and pop shop in CT is better than Costco. 100%.

I generally go with the comparison of an Olive Garden "breadstick" vs a good bakery baguette.

That said, I bet you could find a place in CT that's inferior to Costco, but not in New Haven or Fairfield counties.

I just went to Ceres in Manhattan last weekend and paid $40 for a large cheese and $52 for a large cheese with vodka sauce. Welcome to NYC! It was really great pizza though.

Even if one accepts NYC pricing, adding $12 to sub vodka sauce for red pizza sauce is absurd. I could even deal with a $12 upcharge if it were for speck, or artichokes, or something similar, but the incremental cost of making vodka sauce vs red pizza sauce is literally pennies for the amount you get. That's usurious.

In a pinch I grab a slice from Whole Foods. It’s not high quality but I’m in pizza starved Central Florida and Pepe’s is two hours away, I’m proud to be called a pizza snob.

I can easily believe WF pizza is the best pizza in a ton of places where they have stores - if they're all using the same recipe as the store near me. I'll grab a slice or two for lunch at least once a month. I've got a probably a dozen pizza shops within a mile of my house, and WF beats them all. Their crust is more CT than PA. Actually worth eating on its own.

As an aside to @jibsey, my wife was not born or raised a pizza snob. And while the pizza choices right near me aren't good presently (we had a great one nearby till Covid), we do have some pretty decent places around Pittsburgh. We went to one last weekend (Slice on Broadway) and she said, "This brings back my faith for pizza in Pittsburgh", and said the char reminded her of Pepe's. We're known for underbaked crust, too-sweet sauce, and way too much cheese (almost always provolone/mozz blend). Slice would be a step below the best from NH, but it's pretty good. If I could only get her to accept Colony, she'd be the perfect pizza partner.

The thread is titled Best Pizza in CT, and people feel the need to mention any fourth rate crappy pizza that they come accross.
