Shameless ripoff of Colony.Family-owned pizzeria brings tavern-style pie to new CT location. They found their ‘sweet spot’
-> Connecticut-based Riko’s Pizza is continuing to expand around the state, adding a new location in Ridgefield. The business plans to open its new location at 955 Ethan Allen Highway in May or June.
It will be Riko’s sixth corporate-owned location and the 13th overall. The family business, founded by Rico Imbrogno in Stamford in 2011, specializes in ultra-thin, tavern-style pizza.
The Ridgefield location will be two floors. The upstairs is a 3,000-square-foot dining level with 16 bar seats. Drinks will include craft beers, wines and specialty cocktails…
… Bachmann said the customers’ top choice is the original cheese pizza. Second-most popular is a hot oil pizza, and the third best seller is the hot honey with ricotta cheese. <-
We Stamfordites love Colony for the nostalgia, but Riko’s makes a better bar pie now. Shameful or shameless, no one cares.Shameless ripoff of Colony.

TIL: People move to NYC to retire.I usually stick to your WBB forum, but I just noticed this thread. I'm moving to NYC, when I retire in a couple of years, and I definitely want to make some trips up to New Haven for pizza. My only first cousin is a professor at Yale, so that's another reason. I've eaten at Frank Pepe's, but only the one in suburban DC. I have now bookmarked this thread for when the time comes.
For the cheaper taxes, fresh air and laid back lifestyle of course…TIL: People move to NYC to retire.
Not to mention the world-renown snorkeling, and the adorable local wildlife. For the cheaper taxes, fresh air and laid back lifestyle of course…

$11K/month in rent? I'd be looking for a place where it's $11K/year.![]()
Forget Florida. They Got Older and Moved to New York.
A growing number of older transplants are undeterred by the city’s high costs and are connecting with young neighbors over brunches, birthday parties and running clubs.www.nytimes.com
New York is a dynamic place to live, with money. Rent is $132,000 a year? That’s a slightly different retirement level than I have.$11K/month in rent? I'd be looking for a place where it's $11K/year.
For excitement; have you ever lived in South Carolina? Boring. I want things to do, not "laidback lifestyle". That's for people who wither away into nothingness when they retire. For the cheaper taxes, fresh air and laid back lifestyle of course…
My budget is $3900/month, which is plenty of apartment for a single guy who already downsized.New York is a dynamic place to live, with money. Rent is $132,000 a year? That’s a slightly different retirement level than I have.
Well best of luck to you Cockhorn! For excitement; have you ever lived in South Carolina? Boring. I want things to do, not "laidback lifestyle". That's for people who wither away into nothingness when they retire.
East Village and SoHo will get you a clean, small 1 BR or studio. 600 sq. ft. probably newer appliances. "Creative" storage. My neighborhoods of choice. Stretch to $6000 and it's a different world. My budget is $3900/month, which is plenty of apartment for a single guy who already downsized.
