Players Entering Transfer Portal, As of March 2024

Frosh, soph, and grad. But getting into grad school can be even harder than undergrad, depending on what your subject area is.

    The Bracket

A two year old might not know that the rules defining what's an "intentional" foul don't have much to do with the player's intentions. A Twitter poster might not know either. I see his follow up was to say he thought it was accidental. Even if it was, it still could qualify as an intentional...

I was at that game. Quite a memory!

She finished with 16/12/9. Not too shabby!

Week 18 - March 4 to 11 (conf standings, NET, conf tourney games)

Yesterday Google search kept switching back and forth between the actual halftime score of NBA Chicago vs. Golden State and 300-200. That was weird to see. It showed their usual animation for the score update too.

    End of Year Awards

Pac-12 doesn't give out that info. I would guess a coach can't vote for their own players, as they can't vote for their own team in the Pac-12 preseason poll.

Week 17 - Feb 26 to Mar 4 (games, conf standings, NET)

It's a new lifetime track & field sport, for those not strong enough for the hammer throw.

    Top 16 reveal (Feb. 29)

I'm sure that's true in theory. But people often suspect the committee of tweaking things slightly in such ways. Maybe you're right that they would never do such a thing even if it would be beneficial for everyone.

    Top 16 reveal (Feb. 29)

It's up to them what order to select the teams in. So they could have decided to put Colorado just over OSU instead of just under.

Pac 12 as we know it: 23-24 Season Outlook

It was on the Pac-12 Oregon feed. The national feed and the Pac-12 Bay Area feed had MBB. I had to watch it online because Comcast in the Bay Area only carries the national and Bay Area feeds on cable channels. The picture was okay, but the online feed doesn't allow pause and rewind, so it's...

    Top 16 reveal (Feb. 29)

If this were the final seeding, the committee might quietly swap Colorado and Oregon State to let OSU play close to home, while letting Colorado have the privilege of not being in a regional with another top 16 Pac-12 team.

    Non-UConn recruiting thread

Interesting theory. You probably know Brink said at Senior Day on Sunday that she hadn't decided yet whether to come back. With Clark having opted for the WNBA, that clarifies the possibilities, so maybe it will help Brink decide.

    ESPN's Top 25 Player Rankings

Sadly my main thought is how #2 and #5 both had Stanford in their short list right up to signing day, but went elsewhere. Oh what might have been...

Week 16 - Feb 19 to 25 (games, conf standings, NET)

I heard from a fan who sits close to the bench that Brink had to get off the bench to throw up during the game today. Quite a warrior. It was Senior Day today and you wouldn't know from her comments at the celebration that anything was wrong.

    End of Year Awards

Sure. But there doesn't have to be a transfer of the year award.

A Boneyard Special Pre-Committee Reveal Poll: The Super 16

Colorado was impressive in their win over Stanford, but it seems they've tailed off some.

Wondering what is the issue with the conference bottom teams

Hehe. For ASU, they're rebuilding with a new coach after CTT's retirement. It's too soon to say if the new coach is or will be successful. Oregon had a major exodus through the transfer portal.

    #2 is cursed this year

Yeah, it's cursed. I was glad to see Stanford at #3 this week. :D

Pac 12 as we know it: 23-24 Season Outlook

Kiki was just padding her rebounding stats. :p But seriously, I don't see how you can include Stanford in those who don't have an offensive scheme or who haven't coached players like Kiki to improve.

    Week 12 - Jan 22 to 28

When a recruit ranked #1 doesn't seem to be quite that good, but still is very good, I like to say "it's not their fault they're ranked #1" -- meaning, don't judge them too harshly just because someone else's opinion set your expectations very high. However, by the same token, the family of a...

    Week 11 - Jan 15 to 21

Your words don't deserve mockery. :-) Except there was no way Stanford was going to lose today with the postgame celebration of Tara's 1203rd win all set up and the former players there cheering them on.

    Week 11 - Jan 15 to 21

I'll call it a tie. I do agree Cam has a much broader skill set right now. By the way Kiki hit two 3-pointers today -- on consecutive possessions, no less. Her game will expand further.

PS: I'm not sure what rule is supposedly violated. There is this rule: Reaching through the throw-in boundary-line plane and touching or dislodging the ball while it is in possession of the thrower-in or being passed to a teammate outside the boundary line as in Rule 7-46b This act shall...

There were a ton of bad or questionable calls in that game (like most games, really), some benefitting each team. I hadn't seen the claim before that the inbound block was illegal.

    Week 8 - Dec 25 to 31

There's been an arrangement for various HBCUs to play Pac-12 teams. I believe this game came from that.

    Week 8 - Dec 25 to 31

Her previous career high was 5. I had forgotten that and so I was surprised it was that high. She seems much more accurate when she gets a kick-out pass and can shoot right away, as opposed to when she's got the ball on the perimeter looking for an opening to pass and her defender is playing way...
