Agree, they tried to blame it on needing elbow surgery this year, but he didn't shoot well his first year either. He's a talented big ball handler and finisher, but not a long range consistent player. That said, I think that is Sean Miller's 8th player in the portal. Not a good look. They are...
This is going to put Cincy back in the tourney. I watched this kid on tv last year in a couple games, and evidently he's gotten better. He's a LOT to handle.

My guess is you are going to see this uncertainty on the two time transfers go by the wayside until they come up with clear rules. The Ncaa has been way to inconsistent on this, and they are now staring at likely trouble if they don't clean it up.

It won't be a P2 world. It will be bigger than two conferences, likely 3 or maybe 4. The tv money is shrinking and it will bring the temper the gap right now. It's not as lucrative long term as it once appeared to be.
I really wonder with the ACC revenue sharing issues whether they could garner enough support to add anyone? Not an easy situation, with a leader as well who doesn't seem to have a good diplomatic relationship with some of the critical players.
Stanford is a tough fit unless they go to a place where they are not going to leave. The B12 probably would not add them as they likely would then be at risk of losing them given how well financed they are endowment and otherwise with a ton of resources. Not sure if they would agree to a hard...
+1, yea. That is an interesting take. It will be what is left of the ACC that will be evaluated. I think this consolidation in the B12, B10 and SEC does not bode well for the renewal of the Big East tv deal. Fox/Espn have tons of content now, and the original Fox deal was widely thought of as...
Something tells me with Byu in the fold, BY is not calling them to begin with. Ironic if Byu ends up in the conference, and Utah is left out in the abyss of a likely demotion or independence.
Very simple, because the P12 teams have no where to go but the Big12, and the B12 needs approval as well. In addition, I don't think Yormark will expedite anything and will likely take his time determining who/what they want and can fund. The B12 doesn't have to be in a hurry, they have a deal...
Fox Sports didn't pay minimal dollars for the 10 year deal they have thru 25. In fact, most would have argued they overpaid, as they had very little content as a new network. Big question will be now that they have more programming, 10 years of ratings and B12 bball (which they didn't have back...
Bottom line is that "emphasizing" is one thing, but a consistent winning tradition is 99% of it. At the end of the day, the bottom line is you have to continually be competitive in football to get noticed, and be a candidate to move up.
I'd agree, they were smart to lock up sizeable metropolitan markets. Lots of tv sets in those areas and tv viewership is not a perfect science. They're big strong schools enrollment wise and easy to travel to. They also were astute in landing Yomark. He knows how to drive the bus.
It is where football is concerned. Given where the B12 medial deal is going, the tv prospects for a basketball only conference next time around are not good. The P12, or what is left of it as I believe it's only a matter of time before some of them join the B12, is looking at streaming and it...
Agree. Looking at Satterfeld and Louisville's recruiting class(es) he ranked above Fickell, in spite of all the damage done by the prior coaching staff who left that program gutted. He had their best recruiting class in history which they will now see splinter. That Louisville athletic dept...
My guess if he wants to move up to a head coach gig it's Brian Hartline Osu's top recruiter to lose. He knows the guys for the most part Cincy has and also has recruited, and is much more charismatic than Fickell. That would be a gutt punch to Osu to lose him this week. He also would likely be...
Gonzaga could command more money even without football in all likelihood in either the B12 or P12 depending on what their situation ends up. Definitely more exposure. MW is aiming low.
It's once a year or every other year for the other teams. Gonzaga has the travel, but more money and exposure. The Wcc is losing Byu and will be even weaker. This tv deal and early renewal is in my opinion all tied into other moves which are gonna fall. Espn and Fox may already have had this or...
This has Espn and Fox written all over it. It may be something that was actually a part of this tv deal renewal. A chance for those two to add Gonzaga's bball games while leveraging those deals. Probably the cheapest alternative as it would cost much less than a full partner, and would not...
You knew he was in trouble with his statement that he believed the P12 would catchup to the SEC and B10. Not a smart thing to say i these days even if you believe it.
No way that will be that high. Basketball numbers are so much different than football it's crazy. Outside of the tourney, economics won't be there. My prediction will be at best a nominal increase maybe 5.5mm. Only time will tell, but this football money is likely to siphon money from other...
