I'll allow that today. Maybe kinda makes up for her clunker the previous game.Chelsea (expletive deleted) Gray![]()
Las Vegas, and Connecticut 2 good coaches with the 2 best teams. Coaches mean a lot when you get to the playoffs, and Bill and Miller are 2 of the best in the game now. If Hughes hadn't retired, Seattle might have been in the conversation.I very much hope we get a Vegas/Seattle finals, part 2. I would take 5 games of what we got tonight. So many shot makers on both teams.
Also, really crazy how many #1 picks on both rosters:
Seattle:
Stewart, Loyd, Bird
Vegas:
Wilson, Young, Plum (and Cambage #2)
And then, you have the Indiana Fever...
You're not betting on a rookie head coach w/ barely even any experience as an assistant coach?Las Vegas, and Connecticut 2 good coaches with the 2 best teams. She still has a lot to prove. Seattle could easily have 3 or 4 more losses. When you lose 3 players who contributed for the last 3 years, you need to develop you young players. You might lose a game, but a player like Ezi needs to be on the court. The front office paid for a player who was on her last legs in Indiana. Dupree has nothing left, and shouldn't be playing. You're not betting on a rookie head coach w/ barely even any experience as an assistant coach?![]()
Seattle kept their starting five on the bench too long in second half and the game slipped away. She still has a lot to prove. Seattle could easily have 3 or 4 more losses. She's done that before. She's not doing a very good job so far IMO. She's won some games...but she has Stewie, Bird and Loyd in her starting lineup...Seattle kept their starting five on the bench too long in second half and the game slipped away.
She also is playing Stewie, Loyd, and Sue too many minutes. Seattle has 6 players going to the Olympics. That makes an extra long season, you shouldn't play your stars more minutes, but less so they have something left at seasons end. She's done that before. She's not doing a very good job so far IMO. ) And the "am I up, am I down"by-product of this approach might unsettle players who are used to knowing roles (Mabrey and Thornton minutes are like roller coasters).| Los Angeles Sparks released Kristine Anigwe»Hardship release | |

From what I have read, on Twitter, If you are on the roster on July 1st your contract is guaranteed for the remainder of the season. You must give 2 days to clear waivers, before official release. Thus all of the transactions I listed happened today, the 28th, and thus gives them 2 days, until the 30th to clear waivers. These players can be resigned for short term periods, for injuries, and or hardships. Why is this happening? Some inhuman deadline?
Really sad for Rachel. Thought she found some footing.
The Seattle coach made an error yesterday, IMO. When there was 4.7 seconds left, in the 4th quarter, she had Bird inbound the ball, thus taking away a Bird as a shooter option. I would have had Lou inbound the ball, thus giving Seattle the option of Bird, Stewie or Loyd getting the ball, with Russell as the last option. If there was no play for Lou, the guarding player can slack off her, which I believe Hamby did. Lou inbounds most plays when she is on the court. She's done that before. I'm a little taken aback about Banham. She's had some really good games and has been steady for most of the season. Plus Minnesota has had a lot of injuries (I think at least one hardship contract).WNBA transactions today

In other words, international players not playing in the NCAA are automatically eligible to be drafted in the calendar year that they turn 20. The players have no say in the matter. If a team wants their rights, they draft them. Many foreign players who have already gone pro in their home countries have no desire to attend American college and be subject to the NCAA's crappy (at times) rules. And many are drafted at relatively young ages because teams think it can be advantageous to invest in their development over time.
From Holly Rowe twitterJust saw a note that Jonquel Jones is expected to play today for the Sun against the Mystics. Will Charles continue her recent rampage, or will JJ slow her down a bit?

Huh? Not that she was contributing much, but unless they signed someone else doesn't that leave them with only Shook as a post until Howard returns? What the heck are they thinking?I saw a tweet that the liberty waived Stokes
Oh no....
