Maybe we can do a monthly thread about WNBA action and news?

Sky vs. Liberty is on ESPN right now. Absolute shoot out, both teams ripping the nets. Sky up 31-28 thru Q1. Heal making her debut for the Sky, Howard making her debut for the Lib. Whitcomb has drilled 3 3's already. Sloot has 7 pts/4 assists. Ionescu also has 4 assists but only 1 bucket. Very entertaining game thus far.

Sabrina in 1st half finished with 11 pts including a massive 3pt bomb near end of 2st half to stuff a Chicago run , 8 Assists (0 TO's). Against a tough defender in Diamond But only 2 rebounds. so probably not a triple double

They aren't guarding each other, but both PGs putting on a show. At the half Sloot has 12 pts/8 assists and Ionescu has 11 pts/8 assists.

Both teams cooled off some and the scoring pace slowed down, but still an entertaining game. Tied at 52 at the break.

Laney has 11 and Onyenwere 10 for NY, for Chi DeShields has 12 and Ndour-Fall has 10 (think she's happy to be back w/ the Sky after a wasted year w/ the Wings?).

Sloot beats Ionescu to double digit assists. She has 11 w/ almost 15 minutes left. She was only averaging 6 coming into today, figured she would starting dishing more as the season progressed.

Sabrina has been bombing away from 3, she now has a game high 17 points.

.-.
Announcers hyping up several players, but it's crickets as far as Sloot's 13 assists and counting. Still in Q3.

Lib up 76-72 thru Q3. 14-26 3's for them, but 16 TOs preventing them from running away with it.

Can players decline a in game interview, because Diamond was just so short and dry, it’s like why even interview.

Question--why is Stephanie Watts playing? She looks awful. Does Chicago literally have nobody else they can play for a few minutes instead of her?

Well it's looking like Indiana won't be winless this season.

Before the season the season started I thought the Mystics were legit contenders. With injuries and players unavailable, they are not looking good.

Sky kinda faded in Q4. Lib gonna improve to 4-1.

Howard looked rusty but finished w/ 12 pts/7 reb. She hasn't practiced w/ the team yet. Once she gets into the flow I see her being the beneficiary of a lot of assists from Ionescu.

Sabrina finished w/ 19 pts/12 assists. Laney led them w/ 20. Whitcomb w/ 11 pts/4 reb/4 assists and lots of little things that don't show up in the box score. I just love the way she plays. Allen w/ 13 off the bench. She's a bit trigger happy but she had some nice plays as well. Onyenwere disappeared after a nice first half.

Sloot w/ a whopping 16 assists to go w/ 14 points. 22 for DeShields, 17 for Ndour, 15 pts/10 reb for Hebard.

Good win by the Liberty although Sky missing Quigley and Parker

Stokes with a DNP?

Totally agree about Howard. I don't think the Liberty brain-trust could have handled the off-season and draft much better. Except for the turnovers, a really nice looking team imo. And Sabrina--well, she is what she is and, as always, will do whatever is needed to get better. Just wish that the announcers made a bit more of the fact that the two stellar point-guards playing today also played for the same coach in college. (Ditto Hebard, who had a very nice game as well.)

Sabrina has 5 three. Her threes are just amazing ...

What is going on in Vegas? First quarter 18-8 Sun. Q2 25-9 Aces. Q3 23-10 Sun so far. So Aces should dominate Q4? It's streaming on Facebook. I'm not watching. I find I have very little interest in LV with Plum not in the lineup (and sorry everybody but the Sun might be my least favorite WNBA team).

Aces made a run, but then Sun built their lead back up again down the stretch.

They have the worst bench in the WNBA. I think they are waiting for EDD and Meesseman to return. They should sign Lexie Brown for quality bench depth.

I was told the Sky has 7 players better than Gabby Williams so they must.

Is Meesseman returning this year? I thought she was not playing in the W at all this year.

Hines Allen (barely) played in her first available action. She'll ramp up and help immensely, particularly on the boards. Is Emma M. doing an Olympics thing with Belgium again? If so, you won't see her for quite some time. And who knows about EDD...
