The Mystics should play the Storm more often. Dropped their second in a row after their big win. Looks like another big game for Charles, Mitchell continuing to nail the 3's, and not much else.

Awak Kuier certainly has not made a big splash so far. DNP, she's had several of those. She's scored 7 points in 6 games over about a month since she entered the league.

What team is she on? Some people allow others to convince them they are better than they are, at least at that particular time.

But she has a pre-game dunk

Dallas. Arrived well into the season. She's young, I'm not reading too much into it, but it's kinda looking like she wasn't really WNBA ready.

Sami Whitcomb going off! 28 points, gotta be a career high. 7-12 behind the arc, 9-15 overall. Also 6 reb/5 assists. Laney getting some help and the Lib whoopin' the Dream.

edit--Onyenwere and Ionescu both with their best games in a while

also no Hayes for ATL

She's 19 and wasn't expected to contribute immediately.
I would think a player who skips college to go to the WNBA would be expected to contribute something right away. Why draft her if you know she is not ready?

Magbegor was around the same age, right? She didn't have a huge rookie impact, but she was at least part of the regular rotation.

And then there's Lauren Jackson. Also around the same age as a rookie, averaged 15/7.

The Liberty can beat just about anyone (ok, maybe not Las Vegas) when they are making their 3s. When they are not, they can get blown out. So...while they got a lot of press around their 5-1 start, 8-8, half way through the season, feels about right for them. That being said, they should get Natasha Howard back soon.

Laney has deservedly gotten the most attention, but Whitcomb has quietly (and maybe not so quietly anymore) been a complete rock for the team. She also currently leading the league in 3-pointers made, shooting nearly 45% from range.

However this year ends, any way you slice it it's a big improvement for the Lib compared to last season.

Getting Howard back will be huge. Look at their options when she's out. Slim pickings.

See, I knew Whitcomb was a big loss for the Storm. I'd take her in a heartbeat over any of their bench players this year. I'd also take her in a heartbeat over one of their starters...

Parker better pick it up if she wants to keep that "undefeated when she plays" thing going. Sun up 6 at the half, Candace is 1-7 for 2 points. While obviously having her back has been good for the Sky, there have been at least 1 or 2 games they won despite her, not because of her. Like the previous game against the Sun.

Many foreign players who have already gone pro in their home countries have no desire to attend American college and be subject to the NCAA's crappy (at times) rules. And many are drafted at relatively young ages because teams think it can be advantageous to invest in their development over time.

Sun hammering Sky. Jones/Bonner eating Parker/Dolson's lunch. 9 pts/10 boards compared to 44 pts/16 boards.

Nice buzzer beating 3 by Katie Lou for a 42-37 Seattle lead. Seattle with 13 TO's in first half.

Connecticut. Las Vegas are the best 2 teams in the league. Plum makes Las Vegas a very good team.

Vegas with 17 FT's and Storm with 5. That's ridiculous.

KLS had a good first half, then disappeared. She was splitting minutes w/ Talbot, but now she's playing twice as much. I don't get it. Talbot has been productive for them this season when she's had an opportunity.

Plum seems to be very much a 2nd half player this year. Quite a few games she's done almost nothing in the first half, then really come to life the last 20 minutes.

Stewie w/ a monster game, Russell producing well beyond her average, the other 3 starters not up to par.

2nd straight OT game for the Aces. Storm led almost the entire way.
