Vance is Transferring

This was kind of known for a while. Vance is a good kid and a nice player but Vance Sr. thinks he's the next Lamar Odom.
Maybe he is in one way. ;) And I don't mean marrying the ugly Kardashian sister....

UConn fans are still drunk on 2014 title buzz. Once that dies off in a few more years of miserable performance maybe people will start asking questions. Maybe.

But then again they'd just be acting like a bunch of #Chicken Littles.

Been saying this for 3 years.

Overreact? Why would I? This program is officially dead - Kevin Ollie threw it into a blazing inferno with his failure to utilize Enoch and Jackson correctly, as well as his head-scratching decision to replace Glen Miller. There's nothing left to react about - all you chicken little folks were so right. I'm just coming here to send a few goodbye PMs before migrating over to another team's board. I'm thinking maybe URI?
It's more of being an absolute condescending doosh any chance you get in the face of a clear and developing pattern over a short timeline.

All so you can perpetuate this ongoing charade that YOU are the most level headed person on this board. NOTHING rattles you, you never react to anything so therefore you are not affected by anything. You are the ultimate zen monk, shaken by none.

Then when it turns out you were wrong... you double down.

You're right, they have enough crashing down on them already.
If the rumors are correct, then more negative news will come out soon. And you can predict the reaction.

Now four things can happen in the future. The ship quickly turns around and we get back to elite status. The ship slowly turns around and we improve but not elite. We stay about the same. Or we become BCU and Rutgers.

Now since none of us know which future happens I'm leaving the panic to the chicken littles. I don't like wasting my panic on the unknown.

Bye.

Well according to OZ the transfer nightmare is over

Care to dissect?

That quote is the definition of insanity. Trying the same thing over and over and hoping for different results. That's KO's plan too. It's not working.

I hope he's right for a few reasons.

First, because I think CV and JD are really important to the future of the program.

Second, because he has real connections to KO, and if he's wrong that means KO might not have the right pulse on his players.

Actually his reaction mirrors yours. You hit KO pretty much the same way. Only difference is he has the balls to stare down fellow Boneyarders. You and the dudes like you talk tough against the air.

.-.
you act like it's been a smooth transition for Ollie and the university since '13... and im not talking wins and losses
I'm talking about how some of our fan base continue to behave and think in 2017.

You guys think we are even close to UNC, Duke and the programs we think we are peers with at this moment? We are lucky to be seen as eye to eye with VCU at this moment in time. But internally our fans still think "we will win a title every 4 years because magic" and therefore all is well as a secret blue blood that no one else knows about.

Or KO or whoever his sources are are choosing to stop contact with him regarding these issues.

What in gods name are you trying to say here fleud?

Take this pseudo-intellectual cryptic posting crap to another thread for another day.

Blah blah blah, I am out, blah blah blah, some BS about "brothers" blah blah.

In the end, the translation is: I am a quitter.

I do not wish him well, he quit on Uconn, why shouldn't I/we do the same?

If the only news this week is that VJ and SE are leaving, and Chillious is coming in...this is a huge net win.

Seriously, Chillious, Killings, KO, and Moore are going to light up the recruiting trail in ways I don't think we've seen since mid-2000s...and maybe never.

"We" didn't see eye to eye. Shades of DHam. Helicopter parents. I guess they know more about getting someone NBA ready than KO and Uconn. I have grandchildren who play soccer and the parents have to be on the opposite side of the field from the kids and coach. I think the lesson here is taking a long look at the parent as well as the kid. This kind of hovering cannot enhance development when you are getting it from home and the staff is trying to mold you at the same time. Conflict city. Give me some Boats, Bazzes, DePriests, Allens etc. I actually feel bad for the kids. What a shame. This is really a cultural phenomenon.
This doesn't get enough attention, and I think it's really important. Geno said the following on one of his SNY shows one time, and it always stuck with me:

"For us, one of the hardest things for us to identify in recruiting is: do we want these parents in our program, yes or no. Sometimes it's not even do we want that kid in our program. Sometimes the kid's not a bad kid. Do we want these parents in our program? And you'd be surprised how many times we say, 'no, we don't.'"

Now, by no means am I suggesting that Kevin's overall recruiting strategy can, or even should, mirror Geno's—they operate in different worlds. I'm saying only that one important factor, to the extent it's predictable, ideally should be the likelihood of parental interference in the program. The wrong parent(s) can cause a lot of problems, and a given recruit may or may not be worth that added trouble.

.-.
Why not? Might as well hope for the best.
You guys act like it's a sure thing. I'm a realist. If he doesn't, we're f-d. I'm tired of saying wait until next year or worse, "in KO we trust"......Sorry, I just vomited in my mouth. To quote Tony Montana, "Who I trust?! Me, that's who!"

It's not either or. There are a lot of other possibilities. You've created a scenario which may not stay fixed. Success is fluid. Take failure with a grain of salt.

if there are major chemistry issues going on, best thing ollie can do is get a leader on this team, whether Jalen is ready, or a grad transfer, and make them take ownership for the team like Donnell an Kemba back in 2011.

Or KO or whoever his sources are are choosing to stop contact with him regarding these issues.
Another option. But Oz says he just talked to KO about it. To lie to Oz's face doesn't seem like KO.

But maybe he's seen what's happened this past week and decided to end the chatter. That wouldn't be a bad thing.

when everyone jumped ship in 2012 we all lost hope but ended up with a chip the year after. this time around i'm not confident at all.

Agreed. Can't wait to see a full recruiting cycle with this group.

Problem is we need success starting next November to get this program back to relevance. Here's to hoping!

Thank god for that guy Joe D

I never said it was a sure thing. No one knows. Wait until next season and see what happens.

My daughter is being recruited and all the coaches warn the recruits and parents about how they can cause the coaches to pass on your kid but I really don't think it's true. If you can play, the coaches will put up with anything. Look at Ball at UCLA. I hate Calipari but one thing about him is, you never hear a peep from the parents of his kids on social media or anywhere else.

KO is a much better coach than Romar with the championship ring to prove it. I mean, when Chillious gets to sell that...
