OMG -- it would be high comedy if Belichick left UNC for the Raiders.
As a Raiders fan (they are my #1 team followed by the Pats), I would very much support him pulling a Yates and committing to the Raiders. McDaniels didn't work out well for us, but maybe BB would do better (cuz it can't get worse). Plus, if it helps to destabilize the A¢¢ and weaken UNC, then why not?!?! Come on bill, waddya say you role the dice and go to Las Vegas...

I just hope he gets PT. I have no clue what the depth chart looks like but I'm sure a lot of top end talent are chomping at the bit to play for BB. For a kid with, I believe, one year of eligibility left, I'd hate to see him spend it on the sidelines or play sparingly. I guess if the money is right though.
They just signed a top recruit for that edge position.

Wish Yates the best. If he feels this is what is best for him, be happy for the kid. He gave everything he had and wants to make a move for his last year. UConn will survive his loss without skipping a beat.

For no reason other than to chuckle at UNC it would be fun to see Bellichick leave for an NFL job before January ends. I'm pretty sure however that UNC anticipated this possibility and put a serious buyout if he leaves before this July or August (NFL summer camp, basically far too late to land a HC job).

The money will be nominal for an NFL team but would be a nice chunk of change for a college program.

Yates played his career game against a line of redshirt freshmen forced into their first game action because of opt outs or injury

Up to that point he was mostly nondescript since coming back from injury.

$10m buyout if he leaves before June 1, 2025. Drops to $1m if he leaves June 1, 2025 or later.
