Yeah nah, he entered the portal only to temporarily walk it back so that he could "rejoin" in order to tryout for a new team. This isn't a kid, he's a man with a college degree who shrewdly played the market to jump to our nemesis in the A¢¢. Thanks for playing for us, but his last play was scummy. Next!

I just hope he gets PT. I have no clue what the depth chart looks like but I'm sure a lot of top end talent are chomping at the bit to play for BB. For a kid with, I believe, one year of eligibility left, I'd hate to see him spend it on the sidelines or play sparingly. I guess if the money is right though.

Did he play us? Not sure I agree, as what he did, did not cost us any money and he played in a bowl game in which we won. Now that he is gone and the manner in which he did it, I ask who is Yates?

The way I see it, almost all the returning edge players return as well as a transfer from Delaware, a 4 star and a 3 star edge recruits, and Yates. But, we don't know what size of DL that Bill B is targeting and how he will rotate his DL. I would think Yates is in the mix to earn a spot in the rotation, but there will be competition.
I did read that it seems Bill B is targeting portal players that have shown production wherever they were and he seems to be shying away from highly ranked HS recruits that haven't produced at the college level yet so that could be in Yates favor.

As a Raiders fan (they are my #1 team followed by the Pats), I would very much support him pulling a Yates and committing to the Raiders. McDaniels didn't work out well for us, but maybe BB would do better (cuz it can't get worse). Plus, if it helps to destabilize the A¢¢ and weaken UNC, then why not?!?! Come on bill, waddya say you role the dice and go to Las Vegas...
