Question: I've heard people here say that Waters can't sign with another BE team because he decommitted. Is this true? I thought this was only for transfers? Can someone clarify?

Pulled this document from Providence Athletics website. It says athletes who sign an NLI with a BIG EAST institution are subject to the transfer policy which is "are not permitted to transfer (directly or indirectly) from one BIG EAST institution to another BIG EAST institution and participate in any capacity..." The specific comment can be found under the 1st paragraph of Special Notes.

Well...
1. you said Cobb "started" at Auburn/South Carolina... he played 5 min/game and went for 1.1 pts and 1.6rb/game. So that is inaccurate and shaded positively...
2. you characterized both the other players as "top 100" type players, which is inaccurate and shaded positively...
3. To my point: If you think that 3 guys who have never played a college minute(diarra, polley, Carlton) and a guy who played averaged 9/7 at JUCO are going to be dominating America East teams, I'd like to point out that literally THIS YEAR our veteran top-100 frontcourt(Brimah, Facey, Enoch) were dominated. Its a bit coaching, its a bit talent, but who is really looking at the facts and closer to the truth?

At the very least, I think we are equally shaded

1. "Started" as in started his career -- not started games. What I said was totally accurate. You interpreted it differently but that doesn't make what I said wrong or shaded.

2. If you are right and I rounded up, then you are right. I already said I don't know.

3. If you really think an American East coach wouldn't rather work with our bigs than theirs, I don't know what to tell you. The fact that they successfully coached up and integrated their bigs into a team doesn't keep them from thinking they could do that better with ours.

isn't there some kid who can shoot and handle ranked in the 150's we could take a look at? incase TW doesn't happen. been hard to watch uconn hoops without good shooting and rebounding

Allen staying at Duke can't hurt UConn's chances for Waters.

With both Jackson and Allen back there's no really that much time over there. Unless Allen takes more cheap shots.

It has always been the rule in the BE and also other conferences.

I just didn't know if being released from NLI was the same as transfer rule. Thank you guys for the clarification.

Meanwhile back at the ranch still waiting on his replacement to fill the sudden surplus of scholarships. I'm sure it will happen soon, but at this point the move is NOT a net positive. Just saying that's all (facts are facts) - no need to rip my head off.

The only person who could come in and get a bunch right at the drop is a bag man. Or Cal. Which might be the same thing.

I heard that and was confused - not sure what the context was, whether they were talking about the present day or the past when the kid was first recruited.

E.g. Slater mentioned that Waters mentioned Indiana, but "that was with the old staff", so I'm not sure if he's recapping the past.

Production value on that podcast is abysmal.

This thread is at 35 pages and will likely reach 50 before a decision is made. So that all but guarantees Tremont won't be a husky.

But he prefaced it by saying "after we lost Makai" and said he has no interest in UConn right now. Doesn't sound like he has any other options though... and why would Syracuse not be interested? I can't see them turning away such a high prospect just because of his height.

I'm not sure.

Zagoria starts the interview by stating that they spoke to Waters and that he's received his release from Georgetown and "he's considering Creighton, Georgetown, UConn, some other schools."

Slater kinda muddied the waters, pardon the pun, by using both the past and present tense with UConn's interest.

And then the Blue Apron read blasted out my eardrum.

Spent more time reading Blue Apron's ad than talking about the players. And nothing really of note with either of them. "Yeah neither of them have made a decision and won't very soon but they have offers"

Yeah...not sure how much I believe that. No interest? Really? he's mentioned UConn a bunch lately...speaking to Ray Allen at JBC...Idk. I hate having to follow this recruiting garbage. These kids have zero clue.

Probably based on the "I don't need to visit UConn" comment, which they interpreted as "no interest."

That was my thought as well.

This kid's recruitment is a mess. He can't even get his story straight, no surprise that recruitment insiders can't either. I'm just going to assume it's a no and hope to be pleasantly surprised.

I can emphatically deny the idea he has no interest. But i am.just as comfused about whats going on as everyone else this point
