Maybe you will get your wish after allWe wouldn't ask off the roster, but Jacob Reimer is a good fit for what Bucs need '-)

I’m late to the Mets thread this year … just weighing in on the spiral we went through…
Happened as Senga went down. No Senga, no Manaea, no Canning, no Megill. I mean that’s starters 1, 2, 5 and 6. Suddenly the 3 is 1, 4 is 2 and 7,8,9 become 3,4, 5.
That’s rough stuff no matter who you are.
A brutal brutal stretch where the offense struggled to pick up the pitching. The starters giving no length meant the pen was taxed.
But all teams go through it. Wasn’t long ago the Phillies lost 9 out of 10. The Yankees are in a dreadful patch right now. It’s baseball and it’s a long season.
Soto has been on fire lately, Nimmo is starting to produce power more consistently, Marte has been playable with the bat. I’m confident Alonso will regain form, he’s still not horrid even though he’s slumping some. Lindor is streaky. Always has been. But he’s the captain of the team and the guy I’m least worried about.
This team needs Alvarez, Vientos, Baty and/or Mauricio to figure it out. IMO the lack of development from the young guys has started to show itself.
CF is the only one that is an absolute must add for me. Duran or Buxton would be the dream but at this point anyone would be an upgrade over Taylor. What do you guys hope to see the Mets do at the deadline?
I think we need bullpen help for sure and I also wouldn’t mind them making a play for a legit CF. The pitching has been fine and Senga and Manaea are back now.
Senga
Manaea
Holmes
Peterson
Montas or whoever else …
That’s a pretty good rotation.
The top 4 in the line up are more than fine (Lindor, Soto, Pete and Nimmo). It’s the bottom half that’s failing us. I love Taylor as a late inning defensive sub and a 4th outfielder but his bat is weak. Baty, Mauricio, Vientos, Acuna and Alvarez have really been a major let down this year. We need Alvarez and one of those other guys to be real assets to the line up. Alvarez and Vientos have shown it in the past but man it’s been rough this year. Mauricio and Baty will show flashes but can’t put it together consistently.
Winker can’t stay healthy to even get a read on his abilities anymore. Feels like we need a jolt in the line up somewhere - 3rd, Dan Hurley, or CF.
Agreed. And I'm not against trading one of them, I just don't see anything impactful out there to get back right now.So, after all the noise about how bad this team is....they're 1 game out of the best record in baseball.
I feel like I'm going to be sad regardless of which one of Baty, Mauricio, Vientos or Acuna gets moved this week.
I am a believer in Vientos. The way he hit at the end of last year was not a two week fluke and it's not like he had a hole in his swing that pitchers caught up to. I'm not sure what his issue is, but I feel like he's going to be a real solid major leaguer for a while.Agreed. And I'm not against trading one of them, I just don't see anything impactful out there to get back right now.
Vientos for 2 months of Luis Robert is the popular rumor which would be a disaster. You could sell me on Mitch Keller but any of the other names out there I don't love moving any of those 4 guys for
Looked like Soto got hosed on a couple of pitches.
I know human error is part of the game but I’m ready for the Automated Ball Strike system or at the very least being able to challenge.
Definitely the best 7/8/9 combo in the league now. I'd even extend it to Soto/Garrett for the 6th inning too. Both are a bit shaky but it's hard to do much better than them for lower leverage spots. Is Rogers/Helsey/Diaz a W if we’re ahead after 6?
Well to be fair, they scored enough in game 1 against the Pads to win. Montas and Brazoban melted down in the 5th, went from 5-1 Mets to 6-5 Pads in one inning - partly because Brazoban didn't cover 1st base.Limping home after a good start to the west coast road trip. They sent their bats home after the Giants series. Guess doofus Mendoza decided to not heed my advice on Petey-Bear.
I have come around to really wanting Robert, I dont know that I want him at the asking price being batted about. But he'd be a nice addition for sure. Mullins is a decent pivot if the asking price is too high on Robert Jr.Definitely the best 7/8/9 combo in the league now. I'd even extend it to Soto/Garrett for the 6th inning too. I wouldn't mind adding another SP but don't expect it, CF needs to happen today though
Got your wish with Mullins. Don't love him as a player but he's a big upgrade over Taylor and hopefully he can get hot in the 2nd half like last yearI have come around to really wanting Robert, I dont know that I want him at the asking price being batted about. Feels like we need another starter. Holmes is fading fast and I doubt they are going to keep him as a traditional starter much longer. Montas is fine as #5, not so enticing to think about him starting a playoff game. Senga should be fine but he's had a long history of injury issues and also won't pitch on short rest which complicates a playoff series. Manaea looks good but needs to get stretched out some and Peterson is oddly kind of the most reliable guy right now.
A 1,2,3 of Senga, Manaea and Peterson is fine - but with Senga's need for extended time between starts and Manaea coming off injury - that's less that ideal as is IMO. And if Senga tweaks something man we will be in a bind.
