“I’ll make that move 100 times out of 100, that’s the right move in my mind,’’ Callaway said. Why did he take Matz out at 79 pitches? This inning has been a nightmare.

I read somewhere this morning that he was concerned that Matz had just run the bases and there were two dangerous righties coming up. Pretty lame imo. That's simply a guy who is making it clear he doesn't want to answer for his screwup. The way Matz was pitching, the pitch count and the fact you let him hit? Every indication he should have gone out there next inning. Callaway panicked, got burned and won't admit it.

Wait, so he was sticking with Matz if they were tied and only decided to bring in Lugo when they took they lead? That makes zero sense to me because you are not using him for three innings, and he is your best closer right now. What was the plan for the 9th if they had the lead, Familia?I just read that Lugo didn't get up to warm up until JD put them in front 2-1.
Davis was a 2 run single so he wasn't bringing Lugo in if they were losing. But still a dumb decision to pull MatzWait, so he was sticking with Matz if they were tied and only decided to bring in Lugo when they took they lead? Ah, I snoozed for a bit and missed that. Yes, still dumb.Davis was a 2 run single so he wasn't bringing Lugo in if they were losing. But still a dumb decision to pull Matz
Just in case anyone thought Mickey has a clue
Look at this article about the prospects in the Cano deal....

Those prospects the Mets dealt in the Cano-Diaz deal? They're thriving for Seattle
Jarred Kelenic and Justin Dunn became big names when they were shipped out of New York. Now, they could be the future of the Mariners.www.espn.com
such a laughable bad trade. the mariners would have shot cano to the sun to not pay him.
Bullpen will be the death of us.

How 'bout those Mets? deGrom? Alonso? BVW with a nice pickup of Panik?
2 games back of the WC and a huge homestand coming up? Fun team to watch.

too bad no more kansas city and miami for a bit!
For someone who's as smart as you are, you really begin a lot of your posts with "lol". That's cute. And thanks for your continued support of the New York Mets.

Trolling well I think you mean.
Call me crazy but this is very enjoyable. A month ago I did not expect to be watching meaningful games in late August. And a really good group of guys.2 games behind the wild card - such wild success!
I heard the same report during the game but I’m not allowing myself to believe it.Nimmo in AAA and Lowrie actually hit in a minor league game. Getting them back along with McNeil and Smith back will actually give the team major league depth.

LFGM!!!
It's too bad they didn't have a smart GM to find a good 2B to fill in for Cano/McNeil tooHey whaler11? Not a bad pickup of JD Davis by BVW, huh? You’re a donkey!
