SC vs Notre Dame 11/26/17

As I have pointed out elsewhere, the refs are letting Shepard of Notre Dame get away with lots of pushing and body contact on Wilson. It's really stunning.

Yeah that sounds like ND Basketball. Hammer the other guys and flop yourself.

SC is completely falling apart right now. Notre Dame is scoring almost exclusively on layups and putbacks. ND up by 13 in middle of Q3.

I want ND to win so we meet them as an undefeated team. It is always much sweeter to beat an undefeated ND team (we have a little experience in that area :D)

Debbie Antonelli just made a great point. It was when Wilson went to the bench for a rest in Q2 that things really turned south for SC.

IMO Oregon missed a great opportunity yesterday. They should have scheduled to play UConn instead of Oklahoma. The attendance was 6.2K. If they played UConn they could have opened up the Upper Bowl and probably sell out the game, especially if it didn't conflict with the football game. Students could have attended the basketball game and then gone on to the football game. Who knows an Oregon vs UConn matchup might have been on National TV.

One would wonder why no one in their marketing department didn't think of that possibility. On the other hand, maybe they did, but the head nixed that idea. The head coach does have the final say in who they schedule for their pre-conference portion of their schedule.

It's always possible that their head coach (Kelly Graves) was more concerned about taking a possible blowout loss to UConn (and starting out the season on a very sour note, ala Stanford 0-2) rather than absorb a small turnout at the gate. They followed Ohio State's lead (switched UConn for Louisville as their opponent in their "Countdown to Columbus" showcase), and took the path of least resistance.

SC finally stops the slide and pulls it back to an 8-point game. Timeout Notre Dame.

From the box score it appears ND is significantly out-rebounding SC. ND has more assists too.

Yes. I can't even count how many times ND would miss a layup and collect the rebound for the putback. Sometimes multiple rebounds.

SC just looks lost.

SC depends to much on Wilson and shes being defended pretty good. I gotta wonder if SC is standing around waiting for her to take over and because of NDs defense shes having problems and no one else is stepping up.

Thanks for the radio feed bags! Rout now.

You can't count out ND when it comes to game planning and coherent offense. I think MM is one of the best in the country (outside UConn brain trust) and has an advantage over SC in this area. Over 55% in FG and 3pt shots. UConn will have a nice challenge defensively. It will be sweet.

SC also misses Bianca-Cuevas who’s been out all season so far with a knee injury, and no Te’a Cooper who may or may not be receiving a transfer waiver after the 1st of the year.
