False narrative
You are talking out of your arse again or are you saying he didn't make that statement?
False narrative
Totally agree. But he wasn't stubborn and made the switch. And we ended the season on the highest high that was realistically achievable, imo. The entire thing was handled like a pro.My guess is that Mora thought that Evers had a much higher ceiling and was force feeding his development. After UAB it was impossible to ignore the effect that Fagnano had on the offense.
Nothing wrong with that approach. But it proved to be incorrect (at least in the short term).
Players tweet offers out all of the time. It's nothing new and not indicative of interest lmaoI think some think he is heading there because why would you tweet it if you are really not that into it more or less. I used it as a placeholder for the likely level he will end up at this time around. Is it possible that he’ll be starting for Ohio State in 2026? I suppose it’s possible. But it’s more likely that if he leaves an FCS program it will be for another G5.
I'm not sure that you and I saw the same Merrimack game (I was there, in 241).
McDonald did appear to have the deer in the headlights body language while Welliver appeared to be our most poised QB in years. The only concern in had with Welliver was that he needed to add a good amount of weight.

Not disagreeing with you or How Sway. Just saying it could be a reason people assume he’s Rhody bound.Guys in the portal usually announce every offer they get on Twitter. It’s a free way to show they are in demand.
I’ve no idea what you’re issues are, but post moras quote you’re holding ontoYou are talking out of your arse again or are you saying he didn't make that statement?

Don’t remember ever hearing Mora say Evers was starting because of NIL.Whoa
You were the one who jumped in on my post trying to be a smart a##. Now, you have the issue because you look like the fool and won't give it up
I'm not holding on to anything, if you are here posting on the football board you know all about it, go find the press conference when he named Evers the starter. But again I am sure you already know this. You were too eager to take what you thought was a clever cheap shot rather than think it through
Because it never happened. That would get national headlines if he said it.Don’t remember ever hearing Mora say Evers was starting because of NIL.
He didn't say it exactly, but he definitely said there is lots of pressure to play the top NIL guys on the roster. Given the context of the conversation, it was pretty evident what he didn't say.Because it never happened. That would get national headlines if he said it.
Yep. He absolutely indicated that he had to play. He basically said, “you can’t take money to buy players and then not play the players that they paid for.”He didn't say it exactly, but he definitely said there is lots of pressure to play the top NIL guys on the roster. Similar to Aiden at point guard for Hurley. Part is you want to see what you thought when recruiting and then all things being mostly even you pick your guy (Aiden/Nick) and see where it goes. Both coaches waited a little too long to make switch (says the guy not making millions to make these decisions). He was asked a question in the pre game/ pre season press conference specifically about naming Evers the starter
He did not say anything about Evers beating the competition. He immediately explained when you go get a player in the portal with NIL, the intention is for him to be that guy

Agree. Sitting at the Duke game, the discussion among us was whether Mora would switch to Fagnano at the half. Evers wasn’t moving the team—in a game we were competing hard enough to win. Our consensus was that Mora would make the move (which he should have), but a Duke fan who was listening, and who agreed that Evers play was hurting our chances, shook his head saying “it won’t happen. If Mora pulls him it will send a bad message to potential portal guys. These guys getting paid expect the playing time to showcase their talent. With an eye toward preserving his reputation for the long haul, Mora will have to stick with him”Hindsight is 20/20,,,,,but seeing the way the season ended, if Fagnano had been getting tue snaps as #1 throughout Fall camp and was starter from game #1........UConn ends up with two more wins.
Yeah, I just did not see it with Evers. Hopefully he improves drastically for this year. The Duke game was not a good game for Evers, but he made several good plays. But there were many games where he was lousy and you could see the WRs such as Bell and Sheffield getting frustrated.Agree. And he did. And we blew a game we had every reason to win.
Not sure what happened there but he sure did deliver some excitement his fresh year with us. For once a QB that could extend plays and make his own opportunities. This board was upset that they let Tyler Phommachanh walk. He’s struggling to play at DII Post.
McDonald did look good that game. You are misremembering. McDonald looked more accurate that Evers ever did. I know Evers didn’t appear in that game.

The UAB game was very telling. If Evers does not get hurt, he would've continued to play and UConn would have lost that game. I don't wish any player to get injured or hurt, and never would, but having said that his injury helped UConn that game because the offense ran much better with Fagnano.
McDonald did look good that game.
Because he never did. The king heard something and ran with it like a genius.Don’t remember ever hearing Mora say Evers was starting because of NIL.
Add to that the Wake game. I was dying of frustration in that one.Agree. Sitting at the Duke game, the discussion among us was whether Mora would switch to Fagnano at the half.
