Ok, why can't they do it in a conference where they are on equal footing? I'm not doubting you believe what you write, but you don't give one reason, not one, seems all opinion without one bit of fact. Let's assume they can keep Cooley and he can coach because without those two things then nothing is happening. (if you are saying that is what you are basing your opinion on then fair enough) But... Their facilities are as good if not better now than every other school in the conference, academics are fine while also not holding the staff back on recruiting, fundraising is at an all-time high. They pay their staff, top 3 in the BE. Tremendous desire by the Administration.
For someone that has been around and watch UConn come from nowhere completely because of a coach, I'm surprised by your statement that they will struggle in the BE long term. Now if you were saying the BE was going to end up being a mid major then I get that, but that's not what you said. What do they have to overcome that is different than the other schools in the BE, besides say Georgetown?
