Where'd you see that? Hamilton's 247 page has him committed to UConn.

He was predicted to go to Arizona. The OP was making a point that the predictions are just complete guesses

What I meant was, that's the school he was predicted to go to. It's still up there.

Unfortunately, Pascal's guardian is a huge Catholic school guy. He played at a Catholic college. His own kids went Catholic K-12 and all to Catholic colleges.
One of his guardian's kids goes to St. Joe's. Martelli was at the state championship at Mohegan.
I'm saying a prayer that Pascal will make his own decision.

Is Pascal a Catholic?

If your Pascal, you need to break it down by the facts.

What can Providence do for me as a player? - Nothing.
What can UConn do for me as a player? - Everything you want, as long as he puts in work.

The facts are; the current regime at PC has helped Kadeem Batts become one of the best big men in the conference. Also, Ricky Ledo is poised to be a first round pick without playing a game.

We just need to be patient another 16 days or so. Once our staff can hit the road, we're going to see some great momentum on the recruiting trail. I think if KO puts the full court press on Chukwu, he's ours to lose. I'm not worried about Lappas or Firehead stealing him away.
Man, did I say Lappas? I meant Lavin obviously. For a kid who might be a 2 year player, do you guys think a catholic school is critical when a school like ours with a proven track record of developing pros with a very devout Christian at the helm is an option as well?

Exactly. He's about as much a PC product as Andrew Bynum is a UConn guy. Ledo only went to PC because every other school knew he wouldn't qualify. Hence no other schools offered him.

Wait what? Providence took a 5-star player and now he has a chance to be a first round pick? Surely this has never happened before in the history of college basketball.

Providence fans obsess over Ledo, but I wonder if you asked a UK fan who Enes Kanter is if they would even know?

Ledo regarding PC??? C'mon Sean!! Regarding Batts, Philip Nolan pretty much outplayed him in our last game. If Cooley wishes to bring up Batts, Ollie can bring up Nolan.

Yonnick,

You don't honestly believe that Nolan is a better player than Batts do you?

Yonnick,

The gist of this thread is what each coach can do for you regarding player development. Look where Nolan was prior to Wolf's suspension.
Then, look at the game he had vs PC. He's come a long way. Great ammo for Ollie.
Let's face it, Batts is no future Shaq. Whether Batts has a higher ceiling than Nolan has , is yet to be determined.

Batts is a nice player, real nice improvement and a solid college guy. His ceiling is the NBA minors but I doubt he sniffs that.....overseas is his future more than likely. Phil has 3 more years and with additional strength and similar improvement to Batts he has NBA size but it's up to him. He showed some real nice improvement towards the end of the year but certainly Batts had more impact on games last year.

Then again it's June and we could care less about Batts or PC. And why would any top recruit go to PC is beyond me. Ledo I get, he had no other home..........but in order to get to the dance like most kids want why would you take a chance on Cooley, nothing will change!

Batts is prob an overseas guy unless a GM falls in love. Why do top recruits go to PC? Ed Cooley.

If providence has a good season and makes a tourney run he will get offers from better programs than PC. If a recruit goes there either the team sucks and there is almost no exposure or the team does well and the coach leaves. That doesn't seem like an ideal scenario for most players. One and dones are much better off going to a big time program with guaranteed exposure and players looking for development will see their coach leave if the team has success. It's not that providence is the worst college decision a player can make, but it doesn't seem that it is the BEST decision for any top players. When a player picks a school it should be the school that is the BEST for them. It's fine for a player like Abu to consider providence in his top 5, but if he actually picks providence, than he did not make the absolute BEST decision for his basketball career.

I agree that the formula that works best for PC is to find a hot young coach and ride him until the big boys offer. See Pitino, Barnes and Gillen. PC can't offer the resources that the top schools can. It is what it is.

This wouldn't be the first type his guardian steered him towards a lesser basketball school. See: Fairfield Prep over Trinity Catholic.

Two things a top recruit looks for in a coach. 1) How fast can you get me to the NBA.
2) Coach's/Schools NCAA tourney record.
Cooley has never coached an NCAA tourney game. PC hasn't been there in 9 years. Cooley's NBA guys are whom???

Cooley is heading into his 3rd year of rebuilding a program that was destroyed. PC will dance this year. Bad luck kept PC out last year(injuries to VC, cotton and Dunn). Like it or not, Ledo will be in the NBA and even though Cooley had very little to do with his on court development; he had everything to do with the kid growing up a little bit.

If its PC vs Uconn for the big fella; your questions can easily be flipped on KO. He has yet to coach an NCAA game or put a player in the league.

True regarding Ollie. But 5 stars Purvis & Hamilton just bought into Ollie. As far as far Cooley, you said top recruits are attracted to PC because of Cooley. But, not for the 2 reasons I listed.
Happy fathers day Sean. We'll worry where Paschal goes at another time.
UConn fans think PC is a terrible choice for a player they want at UConn? I'm shocked. Facts are that Cooley is in Connecticut. Something your just going to have to get your narrow minds wrapped around and deal with.
Assuming you are a father, too, FriarJ, Happy fathers day to you, too.
Just a reminder, if I referred to PC folk as narrow minded on PC's board, I would be double banned. Yet, on this board you are still here.
