OT - NBA off-season thread

2-time MVP, 2-Champ. It was time to cash in.

Livingston has a chance to make a lot of money and be part of an historic run. He was in a can't lose situation.
Yeah it was time for Steph to cash in. He was coming off arguably the most team friendly contract in the NBA

Hahaha Ainge has too many friends in the media. Somehow a better trade offer always gets leaked to the media every time the Celtics swing and miss.
You're selling Woj short if you think he'd be easily tricked like that.

It's worth noting a handful of teams in the West also thought their offers were superior. Turns out Indy is yet another trash bag of an organization.

Damn, if Rudy Gay goes to GS, I might actually root for them.

Seems like the Timberwolves are really making moves. That is going to be an exciting team to watch next year.

Not a fan of trading Rubio for Teague (@ $6mil more) and a pick. They still have more moves to make.

I think its more that there are a whole lot of folks who don't want to see either the Celts or the Lakers to be dominate again
JMHO

Denver is positioning themselves to make a huge jump next year as well. It appears they lead for Millsap, who would be perfect with Jokic. They already have a plethora of talented young wings and Gary Harris is one of the most underrated 2 way players in the League @ SG. If Murray (who I really like) or Mudiay (who I don't like, but is very young) can establish themselves as plus PGs, this team will be awesome.

JJ Redick to Philly. That team could actually be good next year.

Doubtful.

They could make the playoffs in what's sure to be a dreadful East, but let's see them stay healthy and win 40 games before expecting much.

Only glanced at the box score, but doesn't look like Hamilton had a great opening game.

If Embiid stays healthy I think there is a chance he is the 3rd best player in the East. Lots of qualifiers but the possibilty is there.

He's played 50 games in THREE years. I'm a big Embiid fan, but he needs to actually prove he can stay healthy.

They deliberately over paid to preserve cap space. They gave him far more than he would have recieved per year in a multi year deal. He hits the market again next year. Win-win.

Man, it's good to be JJ. That's QB1 money.

The Celtics and Nets have the same number of NBA Finals appearances in the last 30 years. For all practical purposes, the Celtics are an irrelevant franchise.

If this is a serious take, it's a really bad one.

There's a real possibility Lebron, Westbrook, and George all end up on the Lakers next year.

Has Russ said he won't sign the supermax deal with OKC?

'bron should go to OKC

Ferguson, who they took 21st, could be really good

DHam can't shoot and can't defended

He shot over 37% from three in the D-League last year on 5+ attempts per game. He's not great, but the "can't shoot" label should be reserved for guys who are worse from that.

If he's averaging 15-8-5 at age 21 against better comp than you see in college, then there is reason to believe he can develop into an NBA player.

I've felt for a while there is a decent chance KD goes back to OKC. I could see George + LeBron in LA w/ KD and Russ re-uniting in OKC.

Got it. Number one seed in the East is irrelevant. Best young coach is irrelevant. A stack of assets a mile high is irrelevant.

Come on, man. That's just disrespectful

There is success to be had outside of Cleveland in the East RIGHT NOW.

The gsw reign will not last more than another couple years. LeBron is not 28. The NBA landscape will be draastically changed by 2020 and the celtics (and skxers and minnesota) are poised to make some noise.
