Spieth completely unhinged!!!!

Greg Norman is calling him a choker.

The wheels completely came off.

Well that's about as unexpected as it gets, Mister consistency just looked like a weekend hacker.

.-.
Spieth just birdied 13. As crazy as today has been, he still has room to recover.
Yep. He still has time. Same with DJ whom I'm rooting for. But the window is narrowing. Faldo called Willet yesterday. To think the kid almost decided against coming because of his wife giving birth last week.

Early players on the course are posting red numbers.

I'll make a prediction that the winner shoots 68 or better today.

A vanilla prediction but I hit it. Someone was gonna post a number based off of early clubhouse scores.

.-.
That was totally shocking. I have no idea how you miss 12 to the right with a 5 shot lead. Has to be middle of the green - has to be.

Not sure how he recovers from that.

It's crazy to think that the 12th ranked player in the world winning surprises so many people (not here, but on Twitter). Not that I picked him but it's not like he came out of nowhere.

Is this where Nantz picks one of the players to give his special tie to?

I think pairings today had a huge effect on the outcomes. So easy to play down to a bad level.

I was texting back and forth with a few friends and that point was brought up. You get in to a groove with your partner even though you are competing against the rest of the field.

Especially on the back 9 of Augusta when the flags are flat (no wind). You know groups ahead of you are making numbers. Having a dud of a partner puts it all on your shoulders. He let his concentration lapse (much like Rory 3-4 years ago) for 30 minutes. 3 holes and +6 later, it was damage control.

You correctly called Day's day, being paired with DJ. Never got anything going.

Day needed to pull that group. If Day had shot 67-68, DJ would have gone low too. DJ has the million dollar arm and the 5 cent brain. You knew those eagle putts on #8 and #15 never had a chance. That's why I still respect what he did last year at the US Open. He played to win. Sure, it bit him in the arse, but he went for it.

If DJ could putt 75 to 80% as well as Spieth, he would have had a shot at Tiger like numbers in majors.

Bottom line is you just can't blow 5 shot leads on the back nine of a major.

Agree, I'd love to see stats on DJ's putts outside of 10 feet. The 4 putt on 5 and so many missed opportunities. I think Faldo said he was the best player outside of putting. The US Open is @ Oakmont, maybe the hardest course in any championship rotation. I can't see DJ being a factor there.

A friend said he's Tiger Woods with Sergio Garcia's putter.

He actually didn't strike the ball very well Saturday an Sunday. He was able to recover Saturday. Spieth is going to go on after the Masters debacle and become the leading money winner. Norman calling anyone choker has some merit. Norman has plenty of experience.

He was having trouble with his game both days as you say which tells you tough minded he is, the kids a competitor. Long way to go before we know what his career will belike, but he just has too much not to always be challenging. Greg needs to think before he speaks because we know he didn't like anyone calling him a gag.

Norman didn't actually call Spieth a choker, guy in the thread was making a joke.

Ok but most importantly can we all just stop with any of these new young guns being the "next Tiger" though. None are close and all they do is continue to prove it.
