Mac what does the scouting report look like for this kid? Is this a high end talent that you are referring to?
From what I have read he is a hard working, give it his all, grinder type. Plenty of those on the roster already.

“I see myself as a two-way forward. I like to be gritty, but I feel like I have a skill side, too,” Robbins said. “The expectations I have for myself, I always like to set my standards high. I would love to be the leading scorer. As long as I think that way, I’m always motivated that I can do it.”

“I believe it was my work ethic,” Robbins said. “I always try and put out 110 percent on every shift.

Leading returning scorer Zac Robbins hopes to increase production for C.R. RoughRiders

98 D Mike Young (@TheRiversSchool) commits to UConn. 6'1 RD is one of the better blue liners in New England, 3rd on team w/ 19 pts in 21 GP.

Mike Young (#98 uncommitted) is another bright talent on D to #UConn, joining '99 Connor Mayer (BSM). CR-@USHL 6th rd futures pick '14.

Young also played with fall '15 UConn Huskies recruit D Miles Gendron (NHL-Ottawa 3rd Rd '14) at Rivers from 2011-14.

RE: Young, well-rounded 6'1 D - plays well north and south of red line. Good speed, active stick, PP weapon with strong point shot.

For those asking, 98 D Young is slated to arrive at UCONN in 2017, currently playing for The Rivers School

Big '98 defenseman Mike Young has committed to UConn out of the Rivers School. Smooth skating blue-liner can be an offensive threat.

UConn commit Drew Elser has lead the U18's in goals this season so far with 13. St Lawrence commit Nick Wildgoose also a nice fall (10-9-19)

Can anyone who follows this stuff closely summarize where we are? How is Cav doing? I'm not expecting a BU/BC class, but are we at a competitive HE level?

Define competitive hockey east level.

They are a program situated in the bottom half of the league. Personally, I do not see it improving in the next few years.

These days it is standard practice in the world of college hockey recruiting. Reform is needed.

Yup... that was more of the "damn I'm old" category comment when you see the actual birthdate.

A 5'6" defenseman???
Oh yeah he's 15 - still, what will he get to 5'9"? Hopefully he has great puck handling skills - he is a russian

Keep an eye on defenseman Philip Nyberg playing with the Madison Capitols of the USHL.

He is a 5th round pick of the Buffalo Sabres and has been committed to Wisconsin.

Planned on being at Wisconsin this fall but an admission issue delayed his enrollment.

UConn is showing interest.
