Niklas Allain, son of Yale coach Keith Allain, has committed to UConn hockey and will join Huskies in 2018 or 2019. 6-3 fwd at Taft School.
According to the article that I read, Niklas is currently a Junior at North Haven High. He is enrolling at Taft for the fall & will repeat his Junior year. Joining in 2018 or 2019 depends on whether he plays Junior Hockey.

Will Garin will play another season for Cedar Rapids in the USHL before joining UConn for the 2017-18 season.

He signed his letter of intent for UConn a couple weeks ago.

After seeing the way Quinnipiac pushed the younger kids around at the XL Center..I have no problem with this kind of thing what so ever. It's kind of ironic how this used to be done by kids going to the prep schools and playing a post grad year.

Keep an eye on Kasper Bjorkqvist from Finland. Talented forward who will be drafted by an NHL team this year. Would be a very big pick up for the upcoming season.

UCONN commit '00 F Drew Elser will head to Avon after 2 years at Selects Academy. 3rd Round USHL pick by Bloomington: powerful stride & shot

Trend of UCONN commits to Avon continues, as 00 D Mac Wiseman departs from Skipjacks for Winged Beavers. Sioux Falls selection in USHL Draft

Right shot defenseman Wyatt Newpower has committed to UConn for the upcoming 2016 season.

Newpower is 6'3", 180 lbs from Minnesota and coming straight from White Bear Lake High School to UConn.

Team is still in need of a couple immediate impact forwards.

Bjorkqvist did visit campus but chose Providence over UConn, Lowell, and Denver.

Timmons will hop on the #IceBus in 2017

I had asked Russ Bitely if Timmons was UConn Bound for this coming season before the UConn report said he was coming for 2017.

@AB670 No he's Muskegon bound in USHL for 2016-17.

D Brandon Fortunato is transferring from BU. Would be a real nice pick up for UConn for next season.

BU has crazy amounts of talent on the blue line this season. Fortunato, who had 22 points last season, would have been hard pressed to find consistent ice time.

Mac he will have to sit out a year if he doesn't get a waiver BUT this would be a really nice acquisition! From what I can gather on the BU thread on USCHO forum Fortunato is looking for top 2 pairing ice time along with pp and pk time as well. As a undrafted FA...he needs to show what he has to scouts.

#cawlidgehawkey NEWS. Former BU D-Men Brandon Fortunato (@BFortunato5x5) is transferring to Quinnipiac. Sits out this year. Great get for QU

Fortunato would've been a solid pickup for UConn, I wonder if they tried to grab him. He has a lot of skill but is very undersized and is in need of significant work on his shot. He would've had trouble regularly cracking our top six this season.

Recruits in the USHL

F Will Garin (Cedar Rapids) (2017)
F Evan Wisocky (Youngstown) (2017)
D Adam Karashik (Chicago) (2017)
F Jordan Timmons (Muskegon) (2017)
D Connor Mayer (Sioux City) (2018)

Well, if you just took the average star rating of each class they would be tied for 42nd.

Its going to be interesting if they can somehow find some high end talent to bring in to replace Thompson and Letunov.

Mac what does the scouting report look like for this kid? Is this a high end talent that you are referring to?
