No, we played Georgia in many sports before we were in the SEC. Tennessee, not so much. Before the SEC, our biggest rivals in football were Clemson, Georgia then probably NC State, because we played all 3 every year or almost every year. In MBB it was Clemson, FSU and Louisville in the 80's. In WBB we didn't have any particular rivalries in the 80's besides Clemson.
