I think its gonna happen eventually for Dawn, just a matter of time.

But I will be shocked if Jazz Davidson doesn't end up at USC from what I have heard. Heard she would prefer to be on the west coast near family but she is still open to visiting a lot of places to explore her options. Academics is big for her reading some of her recent comments.
If she is serious about academia, she can follow Joyce Edwards to an Honors College.

Not much out there about her recruitment, but both Michigan state-based schools make sense as they're close to home.

Hmmmm

Can’t be Macy. Ivey is coaching her on USA U18 starting tomorrow. She still has ND posted on her Instagram. My guess is Dee Alexander (Cincinnati) or Lofton (Oklahoma)? What do you all think?

*Johnson (7-ESPN Hoopgurlz) is Macy’s AAU teammate (UAA WV Thunder)—ND is in her top 10. Wouldn’t be shocked if she went to ND.

Alexander literally just committed I thought? I suppose its possible to change your mind but its rather quick

Stanford has another 5 star commit, I haven't seen anything posted in regards to her status since the coaching change. Granted a lot of kids are also committing to Stanford because of the academics as well as the WBB program.

I'll be curious if Johnson stays home at Louisville or if she dares to leave the state. I haven't seen all her visits but just read she is visiting LSU for their home opener with Grace Knox in November the week before NSD. I'd have to think Louisville has the edge being the home team but should be interesting to see where she ends up.

Ahhh.. the one thing Geno can do that Dawn can’t
I was trying to remember and I can't. Prior to Ice Brady, who was the last high school UConn recruit out of Cali?

Katie Lou maybe? She is from California, same high school has Morgan Cheli.

Never heard of her but she needs to come to Duke. Those other schools can kick rocks. No offense intended
She's been getting on the radar quietly. Good kid from what I've heard about her.

Played with Fournier at Crestwood and Kia Nurse Elite (KNE). Her game is a lot more rounded compared to Fournier at this point of her highschool career. Won't be surprised if she leverages the KNE alumn network for feedback on some of the schools listed:

UConn: Aaliyah Edwards
Louisville: Merrisah Russell
Michigan: Syla Swords (who she also played with)
Michigan State: Isaline Alexander
Duke: Emma Koabel and Toby Fournier

FYI - for ND fans who recall Cassandre Prosper playing for KNE, I don't believe Makeer was on the roster the one season she played for the program.

And kudos to Richard Nurse and the continued success of the KNE program. It's amazing what they've accomplished since 2019 and losing a summer due to COVID.

I saw her play a couple times during the most recent round of EYBL games in May. She has very thin legs that appear to be spring loaded. Very athletic and has impressive skills. No doubt will be a good one.

Don't recall seeing this posted in this thread. If this is a duplicate, apologies. Prawl is an intriguing talent. Has played up for several seasons, including one AAU year with Cassandre Prosper witu BecomeOne, now B1CE (BecomeOne and Canada Elite merged this year).

Suprisingly BC recruits in the Triad. They have another kid from High Point committed in the class of 2025. A few years ago they had a player from this area....

This could be a really interesting situation:
  • Some very top-rated and very visible schools in S. Carolina, Southern California and LSU;
  • Two home state schools - Kentucky & Louisville - that would love Ms. Johnson and are coming from different vantage points. Kenny Brooks is new and could really benefit from keeping a player of her ilk in-state. Johnson, of course, is from Louisville and Coach Walz has probably been aware of her since she started competing.
  • Johnson said she was looking forward to getting to know more about Notre Dame when she received an offer. That's happened; in part because her AAU teammate Leah Macy has committed to the Irish. Plus, ND Coach Ivey was an assistant coach the U.S.A. team that Johnson just played on. Can ND get another top recruit to drive north on Rte. 31?
Stay tuned.

I'm not quite sure exactly what the connection is, but I was told the West Virginia Thunder organization has ND ties. The person that told me this was mentioning it in the context of Macy switching to the Thunder this summer, and he, as a Vandy fan, feared it could be a bad sign for the Dores. Not sure it played any part in her decision, but she did indeed choose Notre Dame. I always felt the Irish and Louisville were the favorites to win her services.

Yes—you’re correct. I believe the coach of the WV Thunder UAA AAU team Macy and Johnson are on is Mychal Johnson’s (2018 grad from ND, and Andrew Wiggins’s wife) dad. I believe he’s been coaching this team for several years with Johnson. I do think that’s why Macy switched (as you stated). I do believe it’s down to ND/Louisville. Louisville however has so many guards coming in this year, where will she get any playing time. I think she’ll get more playing time if she chose ND due to Miles, Citron, Westbeld, & King leaving in 2025. We shall see…

She did not have Kentucky on her previous list ( under the previous staff.) Brooks has her taking a look now
