That's just completely inaccurate. Texas just signed a player for 2020 from California, signed Destiny Littleton out of Cali 4 years go, have Karisma Oritz from Caifornia on the current roster, and recruited Haley Jones heavily. We've had a couple players on the roster under Aston from Colorado; we also lost out on Ashten Prechtel from Colorado (to Stanford). Aston recruited several players out of Arkansas (her home state) like Elauna Eaton and Sash Goforth, even though she didn't sign them. You would be surprised how infrequently Baylor & UT go “head to head” as the finalists for recruits [that could change with a different talent evaluator]. Baylor heavily recruits Louisiana & Arkansas & West [Colorado, California] and UT doesn’t. UT recruits much more heavily on the East Coast & in Canada than Baylor. Baylor has heavy ties to ProSkills, SA Finest, TeamLex, etc. summer teams while UT focuses on CyFair Elite, etc. Baylor has gone head to head more with UConn [Moriah Jefferson, Lauren Cox], Notre Dame [Brianna Turner], and even Arkansas [Jersey Wolfenbarger, Maryam Dauda] than against UT in recent recruiting cycles. There is some overlap [Baylor got Didi Richards who previously committed to UT, Baylor got Queen Egbo in head to head, UT got Rory Harmon after Baylor took Jaden Owens as a transfer, UT got Charli Collier (Baylor not a Finalist)]. Coach Mulkey and Coach Aston both have very particular “player profiles” they seek and those profiles do not overlap substantially [in practice]. Maybe it will change with Vic. But Baylor and ATM generally weren’t fighting over the same recruits when Vic was there with Blair.

But, yeah, Texas doesn't recruit out West and Arkansas . . .![]()
Their success in college was not included in your original post, nor was the "level" of recruit; nothing had been said about recruiting Florida or Georgia, either. So, instead of just admitting you were wrong, you are now introducing completely new topics to your argument in order to avoid looking completely clueless. Keep pretending you know more about Texas basketball and recruiting than I do.Name the last UT player from California, Colorado, or Arkansas that was even 2nd Team All Big 12. Signing 2nd Tier [or overrated] players is not the same as recruiting & landing the Top Tier players. Littleton? How is that going? Want to then claim R. Boothe as Florida recruiting prowess?
R. Allison, J. Madden, M. Jones, etc. Actual elite recruits who actually became All Big 12. Or go to Georgia and Florida for Chandler, Mompremier, Prince, Cave, Johnson, etc. for actual elite recruits who actually became All Big 12.
Signing the JV recruits or calling the Elite recruits is not the same as going head to head to sign top recruits.

Wait a minute, both Littleton and Booth were BIG TIME recruits when they were being recruited. They are both "busts" but many schools wanted them.Name the last UT player from California, Colorado, or Arkansas that was even 2nd Team All Big 12. I just love it when posters resort to juvenile name-calling and insults after they get called out for posting false statements about other schools. That is the point being made.
DEPup Opined: UT replaces Baylor as an elite if Vic steals recruits. My response: Baylor & UT haven’t historically overlapped in recruiting targets. Southie Stalker: UT recruits Cali. My response: it doesn’t recruit Elite players there. Elite in actuality, not Elite in rankings.
You post more about Texas and Vic on this board than about your own team; you seem very insecure.Good Recruiting doesn’t simply entail landing the players you seek but also knowing which players to seek [talent, fit, behavior, drive]. Every top program has landed a recruit that hasn’t “planned out”. Every top program has landed a “lesser” ranked recruit that became a great player. T is the UberQueen of landing UnderPerforming “Top” recruits. Other than Ariel Atkins can you name one UT recruit that her performance for UT matched her ranking?
I do need more.Melissa Jones: Colorado. AP All American. 2 time All Big 12. Big 12 Sixth [wo]Man of the Year.
Sheila Lambert: California. AP All American. ALL Big 12. WNBA 1st Round Draft Pick.
need more?

Nah''''''! Is that we are doing now flossing conference rings ? Somebody is bound to point out that had she accepted the challenge of playing at UCONN she might legit have 4 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP rings.Lauren Cox has a message for your whiny bitterness.....View attachment 57715
Are you saying that UConn needed her to win 4 NCs because they didn't win any during her time at Baylor. Her senior season was cancelled and who knows how that one would've played out.Nah''''''! To parahrase that great American Poet-Lauryn Hill.
"Lauren baby use your head"
No. I'm saying if Lauren had come to UCONN with Crystal Dangerfield UCONN would have won more than the 1 (possibly 2) Championships that Baylor won while Lauren was there. Think about it, Cox would have been playing alongside Azura Stevens Gabby Williams and Napheesa as a Freshman. Additionally 4 years of Cox in the post would have meant that Gabby, Napheesa, and Megan could play their more natural position of wing. KLS could play in the backcourt. Cox would also overlap with ONO for two years. Cox was a big miss for UCONN-pun intended. Are you saying that UConn needed her to win 4 NCs because they didn't win any during her time at Baylor. I believe things happen for a reason, Pheesa and or Gabby probably would’ve have made All America with 6’4 freshman Lauren Cox on the roster I’m guessing she would have been a starter at some point, Lauren also had a tendency to play a little dirty at times. DeShields was a bigger miss in my opinion.No. I'm saying if Lauren had come to UCONN with Crystal Dangerfield UCONN would have won more than the 1 (possibly 2) Championships that Baylor won while Lauren was there. I agree DeSheilds really missed when she didn’t choose UConn, but things worked out for her.I believe things happen for a reason, Pheesa and or Gabby probably would’ve have made All America with 6’4 freshman Lauren Cox on the roster I’m guessing she would have been a starter at some point, Lauren also had a tendency to play a little dirty at times. Seeing how Collier struggled playing alongside Stevens, I don't see how she would have not struggled playing with Cox.I believe things happen for a reason, Pheesa and or Gabby probably would’ve have made All America with 6’4 freshman Lauren Cox on the roster I’m guessing she would have been a starter at some point, Lauren also had a tendency to play a little dirty at times. But she doesn't struggle alongside Big Syl in the wnba. I think the struggle with Azure was that Azure didn't know how to play in the post yet so Collier was lect trying to do it all. A little more time together and they would have been fine.Seeing how Collier struggled playing alongside Stevens, I don't see how she would have not struggled playing with Cox.
I think there are many reasons why it would have been different. For starters Cox is a natural big where as Napheesa, Gabby & Azura are more suited for the wing. Napheesa struggled with Azura because both like the same spot on the floor. As a sophomore Napheesa had one of the most productive season in UCONN history and was named AA. Any Coach would have been considered foolish who might have considered removing her from the starting line up as many on the BY poll had suggested. Cox has always had a big (Mompremier, Brown, Smith) along side her at Baylor and still found a way to be productive. Finally Azura's 3 ball after being scorching hot in the summer all but abandoned her by the time she was eligible to play. Cox by contrast has been a steady (not great) 3 Point shooter 32% for her career. In short Cox as a big would have allowed all the other UCONN wing sized players to be better versions of themselves. @Go/huskies has a valid point-Cox being on the roster would have likely meant that both Gabby and Napheesa would not have made AA. Either player would have gladly traded AA status for another Championship or two.Seeing how Collier struggled playing alongside Stevens, I don't see how she would have not struggled playing with Cox.

@Go/huskies said.He/she said they would have made AA.
I'm agreeing with the or part of his statement. I don't think both would have made AA. KLS was on the team and Azura Stevens and Kia Nurse were playing near AA level as well.I believe things happen for a reason, Pheesa and or Gabby probably would’ve have made All America with 6’4 freshman Lauren Cox on the roster I’m guessing she would have been a starter at some point, Lauren also had a tendency to play a little dirty at times.
