I wonder what the success rate of internationals is at the collegiate level? I know at FSU its been more misses than hits. Bulgak and Romero were great.

Whatever happened to #11 from Spain. I know she played a little her freshman year, then got in a bad car wreck her second year.

Every now and then they use purple jerseys in football.. possibly basketball. Orange and Blue is one of the best color combos for schools.... Auburn, Illinois, UVA...

Sorry, have to disagree. Orange is a horrible color for uniforms. Hate it. And especially hate a crowd dressed all in orange.

Sorry, orange, blue (whether dark or royal blue), and white is a very good color combination to wear on a uniform. I had them on my women's softball team one season. They looked GOOD!;) However, orange by itself does not look good to me.

For years when I was younger (and way before HD TV), I could have sworn Clemson's schools colors were Orange and Navy Blue (certainly not purple).

Seemed like back in the day they had no third school color other than orange and white; that's what I recall them wearing in football when they won their first national title in football in the 80's.

They don't seem to emphasize the color purple very much as Orange is definitely the primary school color.
I looked this up out of curiosity, because it doesn't strike me quite as purple either. Clemson's secondary color is actually "regalia", not purple (Bringing Clemson Into Hue - Color Palette | Clemson University, South Carolina).

Regalia is defined by Encycolorpedia as a "medium-dark shade of blue-magenta".

I've always hated orange uniforms - college (OU) arch-rivals were Texas and Okie State, and then there is Tennessee. But my daughter went to Clemson so I've learned to tolerate their orange, and begrudgingly respect their football program. Have been to many football games at Death Valley - great football venue. Town of Clemson 17,000. University 23,000. Football stadium 81,500, so there can be a bit of a parking issue on Saturdays....

I wonder where she'll transfer to after one or two years.
This will be the continuing joke with the Maryland women basketball program. I'm sure the Boneyard have continuing jokes with Notre Dame (immediate eligibility with transfers, Tennessee, Duke, etc. I'm sure one will be forthcoming with South Carolina since they will most likely be the #1 rivalry with UConn moving forward.

I hope Reynolds doesn't transfer because she has a talented sister in the next class (2023) .

Joke? Just reality I'm afraid.

Because I was curious...

The recruits are whoever ESPN listed as going to Maryland for that year out of HS. If there were international recruits, I know that’s hit and miss. I then looked at how many years they spent at MD and where they transferred if they did.

I’ll gladly correct any errors (we’re all human, no need to get snippy about it).

This is accurate. During this period, Maryland did not sign any international players as high schoolers.

Interesting work on the Maryland transfers. Players do transfer at a higher rate these days but it's interesting to see so many from one school, especially so highly ranked, leave out early of a program that has been a consistent top 10-15 and perennial conference champion.

I was living in Greensboro in 2006 when NC, Duke, and then ACC team Maryland were all in the FF and there as a certain amount of pride that went in to the fact the tournament was dominated by the ACC. I was hoping Gail would pull it out but Maryland took the game from them.

Freese has never seemed like the kind of person I would want to have dinner with but I do think she's a good coach who has done well at Maryland.

It was a scooter wreck that they tried to call a car wreck. She was timid and awkward and all around not good for division one in my opinion. She was never medically cleared by the FSU medical staff and transferred this year, to where I do not know.

In 2009, Maryland did have an international player. Her name is Diandre Tchatchouang. Very talented. She left after two year to go professional in France. Also in 2009 Jackie Nared debut for Maryland (her father played for Maryland and was a teammate of the late Len Bias. Jamie played for Tennessee). She left after one year and played for St Mary's in California.

In 2008 basically it was Lynetta Kizer who was the ACC Freshman of the year.

2007 was not a good year. The class was ranked #2 in the country. Kat Lyons left after one season. Marah Strickland left for South Carolina after two season. Drey Mingo went to Purdue after two seasons. Anjale Barrett and Kim Rodgers stayed 5 years and was on three Elite teams.

But give Brenda credit. She stay in the top 10 even though she have a massive amount of transfers.

Julianna Walker, a 5-6 PG from WA, committed to Syracuse. If there is a HS season, she will likely break Van Lith’s record:

Interesting. She didn't seem to be getting much attention from Pac 12 schools as far as I could tell. Von Oehlhoffen also very likely will pass Van Lith's record as well, but will have a hard time catching Walker. The previous record had stood since 1995. Kind of amazing that 3 players all took a run at it that are within a year of each other.

Not sure if this was posted anywhere. Brock Huard of course was a stand out quarterback at Washington, and his wife Molly (Hills) played basketball at UW. They have 2 daughters that were rated among the best for their class in WA. The family recently relocated to Colorado. The older daughter Haley just committed to Montana.

Aalyah Del Rosario has recently picked up offers from Oregon and South Carolina.
I was afraid of this. Keep an Eye out for Dawn on this one. Del Rosario plays for Trenton Catholic Academy, one of Dawn first recruits at SC and one of my favorite human beings on this planet, La'Keisha Sutton also played at TCA. 'Keisha also played with Harlem Globetrotters-yes those Globetrotters. If UCONN is interested (and they should be) Geno needs to send someone on staff south quickly.
