Would not put my faith in that only. We been screwed over so many times, I would rather for us to take the first lifeboat out. Hopefully, B12 is smart and add us instead of Houston. Then again, B12 is not known to make any right decisions. This waiting is just driving everyone nuts.

And again, all of these flights originated with the plane leaving Houston, going to Teterboro, then going to Westchester, and then going back down to Houston with a diverted stop in Chattanooga (which is 300+ miles from Memphis).

What's interesting is the implication that UConn would have another P5 invite before the Big 12 process concludes, which is in the coming days or weeks. That's a pretty specific timeline.

I'm as far from an expert on what is or isn't permissible as the NCAA is from making logical decisions on violations of their rules, but I would think it's permissible based on the fact it's an official/university related event.

The students aren't being flown home to visit family and friends, they are being flown to an official function as representatives of the University.

I think the NCAA wouldn't care how the school arranged for them to get there. Just like they wouldn't care if UConn chose to fly the entire team to a game at Buffalo rather than make the 7 hour drive.

Okay.

So that plane went from....

Houston to Austin.
Austin to Provo.
Provo to Houston.
Houston to New Jersey.
New Jersey to Westchester County.
Westchester County to Tennessee (diverted) and then back to Houston.
Houston back to Provo.
Provo to Austin.

And then it somehow ends up in Houston without showing the flight on Flightaware?

Houston to Hartford. (For the ESPN carwash, no doubt.)
Hartford to Rhode Island. (AAC media day.)

There's no percentage in waffling days before an announcement. He'll stick with his guns and be shocked by last minute changes that were not anticipated by the OU connection of his Big Ten connection.
 
What're the odds Aresco is asked more questions about another conference, the BXII, than about his own conference tomorrow at 9am?
 
Aresco was just on TIC with Joe D and Gresh. He sure is a good cheerleader...we all have lots of friends in other conferences...no hard feelings,,,,went over what our conference has accomplished....how we were thrown together unlike other conferences with long history...will talk about the elephant in the room to kick things off tomorrow....no need to ignore it....we have all worked together in the past including talks about who we might add in the future....change is commonplace....this is what we do....

I completely understand your frustration and I'm not saying your concerns are unfounded. However, is the Big 12 really a lifeboat if they want UConn or others to take barely more than they're making no in order to be members? That doesn't really help, does it?

It does and it doesn't.

We simply cannot exist being a member of the AAC and trying to sell tickets to events that involve things like Tulsa and East Carolina.

The longer you stay in a situation like the one we're in, the more it drags and the worse it gets.

Right now, you have a front row seat to the destruction of one of the most successful athletic departments over the past twenty years.
