. I've never had hate for Cuse
. I've never had hate for Cuse
And who is a fan of both Syracuse and UConn?
I get it, I do. And if I was a Syracuse fan I would be grateful for the financial stability and depressed about the athletic futility. But what I probably wouldn’t do is get on an opposing teams fansite and try to victory dance the money. It’s a pretty weak look.Um...if they didn't suck I wouldn't have said...they suck. Trust me...it wasn't that difficult to say. SO..Syracuse was a better whore than UCONN? That wasn't my point, but you created the analogy. Accuse me of hijacking whatever you want. Been done. Not impressed. The reality is...schools should be loyal to their needs first...not a conference. Switching conferences didn't make Syracuse an average team. Since Carmelo left...while they were still in the BE...it's not as if they were some perennial threat. AND...neither was UCONN. So, given that reality...TAKE THE MONEY.
Not to stomp on them any more when they're down, but I believe we beat them out for Andre Jackson, who was both teams' top choice and then they ended up with Richmond (before running him out of town with stupidity).I think we've moved past schadenfreude to indifference. Richmond's been on this board often lately. Isn't he the last recruit Cuse beat us out of? Heh.
They did make a final 4 in 2016 and then the sweet 16 in 2018 and last year. That counts way more than being in the regular season kenpom 25 imho. Certainly much better than us the past 6-7 years.
True, but when you’re on the sinking lifeboat, the leaky one looks pretty attractive.LOL we were all begging to go to the Big12 just 3 years ago.
Who is a fan of both? A person who grew up in CT...and attended Syracuse....and is currently paying tuitions at BOTH. Any other mind-blowing questions? Here's the fuzzy big picture that just has you so confused. If choosing between some team winning and not going broke? You choose broke and I don't. It's not rocket science. You folks have a lot to say, BUT...you certainly haven't laid out all the advantages you gained...NOT CHOOSING, but being LEFT in the BE. If you could have CHOSEN...you would be in the ACC. You did not choose the BE. If it was that great...why did you leave it and go to the AAC?! Oh..that.s right...so you could win. You left the AAC and returned to the BE for the exact same reason..that the whore Syracuse...left and went to the AAC! MONEY!I'm with this guy. If I'm a Syracuse fan and my team is several games below .500 and just got steamrolled by a dog____ Pitt team in front of about 12 fans and my geriatric coach has prioritized showcasing his sons (one of whom is probably not good enough to play high major division 1) over winning games and has alienated our 5 star freshman who will probably transfer I am nonetheless thrilled because of the revenue generated by virtue of the association with the ACC. i SeE tHe BiG pIcTuRe. wInNiNg!
This just reads like someone who wants to sound like they've figured it out and all the people who are primarily concerned with what happens on the court and whether or not their team puts out an enjoyable, entertaining product are just rubes.
And who is a fan of both Syracuse and UConn? Maybe when you have so much wisdom to see the big picture and only look at the financials that's an easier thing to pull off?
I don't get depressed about sports. I just don't. Sorry. I'm not that kind of fan.I get it, I do. And if I was a Syracuse fan I would be grateful for the financial stability and depressed about the athletic futility. Ah, so just a casual fan.I don't get depressed about sports. I just don't. Sorry. I'm not that kind of fan.
Whoah, let's not get so personal and offensive. Keep it civil Arby's boy.Answer:

Yeah you actually don't seem to be any kind of fan. You're certainly not a fan of either UConn or Syracuse.I don't get depressed about sports. I just don't. Sorry. I'm not that kind of fan.
Yes. We exist. BC fans have said many of these same things about UCONN and I defended UCONN. I have had many exchanges with them about UCONN (who just swept them) not being good enough for Hockey East, the lawsuits, and all that other crazy nonsense. I look at UCONN wbb and they have had to endure the same conference changes as the men. The same with BC and Syracuse. So...success or failure can't all be this heavily tied to just conferences. If these schools truly missed the rivalries and saw value in the games...they should just schedule out of conference.Ah, so just a casual fan.
ok.Yeah you actually don't seem to be any kind of fan. You're certainly not a fan of either UConn or Syracuse.
Getting into the ACC is great, but the point is to win.
As a Ct taxpayer, you should realize that by your legislators giving a huge tax break to ESPN, the tax payers of Ct are essentially paying the ACC. The same taxpayers cry about UConn's budget, but don't realize how much money is being siphoned away by ESPN.I like winning as much as anyone, but as a CT taxpayer, it would be nice if it came at a cheaper expense. I'm certain those who pay the tuition would agree with this. We all know...this whole conference thing is about revenue. I can't argue with any school's decision to secure its financial future...because as much as I like sports, the priority has to be securing the financial integrity of an educational institution. Both can be achieved.
So...you're saying you understand why Syracuse and other BE teams...chose the ACC. It was a wiser long-term solution versus clinging to sentimental rivalries or concerns about being beaten up in another conference. I think schools have to be creative and loyal to themselves...FIRST. Notre Dame trumpeted the rewards of being independent, BUT as soon as they saw the books...SOME of their teams joined the ACC. CT is a public school as opposed to some of the others. Certainly, that has to be taken into consideration when they are planning and making moves. Probably a handicap...and rightfully so. I mean...you're answering to a slightly different audience and I don't know about anyone else, but I'm very cognizant that the highest-paid state employees are basketball coaches! As a Ct taxpayer, you should realize that by your legislators giving a huge tax break to ESPN, the tax payers of Ct are essentially paying the ACC. The same taxpayers cry about UConn's budget, but don't realize how much money is being siphoned away by ESPN.

Ah, they've reached the stage of grief where you aren't even mad, you just feel empty inside. There is no worse feeling as a die-hard sports fan after a loss than just feeling nothingness because you know your team is beyond irrelevant.LOL, so this thread made me go over to their board… “It’s gold Jerry pure gold!”

I get it, if I was a Syracuse fan I might be much more focused on finances than athletics. I probably look forward to the annual release of financial statements.Yes. We exist. I’m guessing because he didn’t think you’d read the thread.Huh? Why am I on the list?
I don’t even like the Syracuse women. One of the players tripped Geno in the handshake lime and another insulted Maya Moore (who proceeded to score 40 points on them). And then there’s Quentin Hillsman…
