Mir transfer to Virginia, granted immediate eligibility [merged thread]

Interesting! I heard UVA a couple of days ago.

Either team will benefit greatly!

Transfers can't play until next season. By then we'll have all of the injured players back plus Ayanna and Ice.

But then, we'll have 3 graduating, plus two incoming, even 5 injured all back and healthy total is only 11 players.

I would think Mir would do well on a team that is undersized where a 5’10” would naturally play forward. (Which is a lot of teams)

Her fit on a super tall team seems … odd.

Be interesting to see.

Her speed and jumping ability becomes truly valuable if she developes a multipointed (locations) midrange shot. Then she could study Gabby's play book.

Ah, but you forget the portal oh wise one. I'd say Geno would be comfortable with 11 but this year may have had him shake off his old ways.

I'm happy for Mir. Sad that it didn't work out, but happy for her.

As mentioned above, VA is a great school. There should be ample opportunities for her to play. Let us hope the coaching situation works out well for her.

I believe that she is able to play right away. It's a new semester and there is no sitting out a season anymore under the NCAA rules.
