Would hope we go after Marial now. No reason not to take a chance at this point.
At the very least, Bobopedics for student athletes on recruiting trips.I doubtttt it
I doubly doubt it
stranger things have happened with LOIs
Those people are idiots.Isn't there a BY meme about recruiting injury-prone players?
If Illinois fires their coach he can decommit and come here..
Would hope we go after Marial now. No reason not to take a chance at this point.
Wouldn’t you?I guess he'd rather lose to Northwestern and Rutgers than USF and UCF.
Well, that's what I think is the most realistic thing.
Get a good big in. Either of these guys works fine. Then i'd get a big via transfer and go back to the drawing board next year to try and get that major commit from a real impact big man.
You'd be looking at two top-100 guards, two top 100 front court guys and a transfer who hopefully rebounds/protects the rim and I think with some improvement with everyone else, you're making this a better team in theory.
And you're also saving a scholarship to get that guy you really want. It could be a big difference in year-3 when you've got a fully matured Gilbert/Wilson and a growing Akok/Bouknight/Gaffney with some parts.
At that point - what happens with Carlton in that time period happens. If he gets better, then that's fantastic. If he doesn't, whatever.
When the news broke earlier that it looked like we missed on Kofi i checked the 24/7 JUCO commits list for top 2019 bigs. That ship has sailed unless you want to try Dimon Carrigan.
I asked about Dimon in another thread a couple days ago when I started seeing the writing on the wall and was told that the staff has had no contact with him and that he wasn't being considered basically
If we don't land either Mitchell or Wahab we are basically going to need to pray that some coaches get fired from schools that had decent bigs committed. That, or a grad transfer. We can't go into next season with Akok as the only new frontcourt add
Assuming he doesn't decommit once the check clears, let's get Enoch back
The Carlton/Wiseman matchup is going to be epic!
On the plus side, he is protecting the basket.
At one point I'm sure I remember you saying you are a high school teacher. Why can't you speak in complete, comprehensible sentences?? People, at least myself, want to hear what you have to say because you actually seem to have some real info, but needing a ouija board to decipher what you're saying kind of makes the info get lost in the shuffle. Thanks!Hinted on the other thread.... This change radically very quickly
I want Tre Mitchell or Qudus Wahab. I don't know a lot about Chol Marial but I would have no issue if he ends up at Storrs
This has stink all over it. I wouldn't consider this the end of his recruitment story.
hoping hurley and co. are checking in on wahab and mitchell as we speak...
perhaps Akok, Mitchell, and Wahab would actually fit better together than Akok, Mitchell, and Kofi would???
with akok and wahab on the roster you'll have a rim protector on the floor at all times. the same wouldn't be true with mitchell and kofi sharing the floor....
i'm either in the bargaining or acceptance stages of grief
He will be now - Kofi saved the staff’s jobs - he was worth what was gambled.I’m only saying that because I don’t think Underwood is the coach after this season
In hindsight, things changed when he changed schools. That was a sign there were other factors at play.Don't normally let it bother me where an 18 year old goes but this one pisses me off, this wasn't really his decision. Makes me never want us to be involved with a Rens player again.
We need another center - no doubt about it. Those crapping on Carlton - in a perfect world he redshirts. Bigs develop later than guards and small forwards - Carlton needs time to build strength and coordination. He has tools - he just needs time. Case in point - look at Hilton Armstrong. He got abused for his first 2 years - started to hold his own as a junior and played his way into a pretty high draft pick as a senior. His body morphed through the years. The difference was he wasn't relied upon until he was ready. Carlton has been exposed because there are few options.
