Actually, Temple was booted for failing to meet the NCAA's requirement for teams to have an average 15,000 butts in the seats for home games. That requirement no longer exists.

I don’t see any benefit of returning to AAC.
They blew it with a heavy overtone of dislike from some of the institutions that seemed to come from cultural differences. Having WVU, Kansas, Iowa State and Baylor in UConn's corner was apparently not enough. Gotta think if that Arizona president in Storrs rumor was true, we might pick up the four corners and the former AAC teams. So not as big a putt next time -- if there is a next time.
Nelson's go-to red herring: if you don't agree with him you must want to return to the AAC.
UConn will not leave Big East for AAC.

It’s far from just me and you are adjusting to it by replying…We’re allowed to discuss realignment as it relates to UConn on the realignment board even if it’s bad for your mental health. sorry not sorry.
If the ACC gets its head cut off to that degree then I think you are more likely to see a Big East/ACC merger for basketball that drags UConn football along with it.
Football would be better off in a remnant ACC - the schedule would be better in terms of top to bottom competition, would help home attendance, TV viewership would increase, etc.
