I always have to remind people that despite the small size of the state, Connecticut has as many people or more than Iowa, Utah, Arkansas, Kansas, and Mississippi, but unlike these states, UConn is the only school in the state competing at these levels. And if you compared it to even more states around that 4m population level, those states also have their viewership divided between 2 schools or more, like South Carolina, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Alabama, Kentucky, and Oregon.
Connecticut is a sizeable market, and given the lack of interest in college sports outside of UConn, it should be considered a BIG new media market in that UConn does not share allegiances with any other school.
When you're talking about facilities, are you referring to the Rent? Because UConn has made the investment in all other sports facilities on the Storrs campus. In fact, the B12 commissioner remarked that the school has better facilities than ANY B12 school on campus, with the exception of a football stadium.
