Alternate annually between Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium...Yankee Stadium
Alternate annually between Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium...Yankee Stadium
Would they seriously take Memphis/USF/Tulane over us?
Yeah, the B12 and ND make for a great cultural pairing.

It would be odd. Big East seems to be we're our admin are looking.Cultural pairings are no longer a concern. It does not impact the quality of sport events, revenues, betting which draws interest, nor TV viewership. It only impacts our tailgate menus.
I always have to remind people that despite the small size of the state, Connecticut has as many people or more than Iowa, Utah, Arkansas, Kansas, and Mississippi, but unlike these states, UConn is the only school in the state competing at these levels. And if you compared it to even more states around that 4m population level, those states also have their viewership divided between 2 schools or more, like South Carolina, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Alabama, Kentucky, and Oregon.Yes, absolutely. Every one of those adds some combination of ascending football, new/better facilities, a new media market, another stop between the coasts, and/or academic prestige.
But most of all, all three of them provide the ACC’s favorite pastime for two decades running: saying “screw you” to UConn.
I'm convinced we upgraded baseball/softball/soccer facilities at the direction of the B12. I highly doubt our baseball and softball facilities are better than all those in the B12.I always have to remind people that despite the small size of the state, Connecticut has as many people or more than Iowa, Utah, Arkansas, Kansas, and Mississippi, but unlike these states, UConn is the only school in the state competing at these levels. Connecticut is a sizeable market, and given the lack of interest in college sports outside of UConn, it should be considered a BIG new media market in that UConn does not share allegiances with any other school.
When you're talking about facilities, are you referring to the Rent? Because UConn has made the investment in all other sports facilities on the Storrs campus. In fact, the B12 commissioner remarked that the school has better facilities than ANY B12 school on campus, with the exception of a football stadium.
With Texas and Oklahoma in the SEC, they might be better than some of them but Oklahoma State. O'Brate Stadium - Oklahoma State University Athletics is new and huge.I'm convinced we upgraded baseball/softball/soccer facilities at the direction of the B12. I'd sign up for this conference...included East Carolina as a thank you for Tristen!
Basketball squads will play a couple of Big East teams annually in non-conference.
Well...actually...I think it would be 'fine' for football...but pretty weak for basketball...
Nevermind...I guess...unless better than FB independence
Army Boston College East Carolina Louisville Memphis Navy North Carolina State Pittsburgh Syracuse Temple UConn Wake Forest
It was just stream of consciousness...I ended up with a final conclusion of 'Nevermind'...just a hellscape option if P3 takes the 'best' ACC programs and we join a new ACC conference...

Yes, agreed. My comment was meant to be very tongue-in-cheek. I don’t believe any of these programs would actually be a better choice than UConn, just that historically the ACC is great at making inferior choices.
On the facilities side, the only one with perhaps a distinct advantage over the Rent might be USF’s new stadium, but since that isn’t even finished yet it’s hard to say. We just know it’s expensive, shiny, and looks very nice in drawings. This was also only considering football, since that has also seemingly been the only thing the ACC has cared about, otherwise UConn would have been the absolute gold standard choice time and time again.
Regardless, it wasn’t meant to be serious commentary, only a reminder that the ACC’s pattern has been to choose literally any other school no matter how much worse on paper it seems.
Great points on the demographic stats though. We also have all of those states handily beat on population density, which I’d argue is also an advantage for ease of travel to games regardless of whether they’re in Storrs, Hartford, or East Hartford.
Then why would you expect ACC to do anything on behalf of ND that would cost the league millions, and secondly expect the league to do anything but what they did, which is politic on behalf of a fb member. They certainly weren’t going to say ‘would be nice if BYU got in’….Fully aware of that
just some humor to keep the vibes light. It was just stream of consciousness...I ended up with a final conclusion of 'Nevermind'...just a hellscape option if P3 takes the 'best' ACC programs and we join a new ACC conference...

I think people realize it's stupid as s#$+ to take ND in for every single sport except by far their biggest brand, literally the one thing you'd want ND forThey need a conference for non-FB sports.
But the ACC needs ND more than the other way around.
You think the B12 wouldn't jump at the deal that ND has with the ACC?
BYU is not a member of the ACC in 24 sports. Stop acting like ND-ACC have no relationship whatsoever. ACC makes a pretty penny off the ND brand when they face ACC opposition. An ACC without ND (even as a partial member) is much weaker than with. Maybe not a great idea for a conference already on life support. They certainly weren’t going to say ‘would be nice if BYU got in’….
If you are not the P2 then it's not stupid. B12 would jump at this opportunity. And it will only hasten the ACC's demise, if it actually happened, which I dont think it will.I think people realize it's stupid as s#$+ to take ND in for every single sport except by far their biggest brand, literally the one thing you'd want ND for
ACC and ND football have no relationship whatsoever. Would ND be giving the ACC any of the money they'd get if the ACC lobbied for them and successfully? Hell no, so why should ND expect only one way benefits? It's their usual holier than thou coming out again.BYU is not a member of the ACC in 24 sports. Why is it not stupid? Especially after this current display of trying to have their cake and eat it too? Why would you want a school to expect to be half-in half-out and clearly expect more than they'd give in return, in exchange for full membership in all the other sports where ND isn't nearly as prominent? Football is the sport that would be the reason you'd want ND in your conference and they want special treatment for "tradition" because "we're Notre Dame!!"If you are not the P2 then it's not stupid. Are we talking about the same thing? ND-ACC share a conference for 24 sports. Which produces revenue for the conference, albeit nowhere near what football would (obviously). The ACC owns the rights to ND’s away games against ACC teams = revenue. If ND moves their sports elsewhere, the ACC is in a worse position. That’s just a fact. Not to mention that an ND departure may embolden Clemson/FSU/UNC to make a move themselves. That conference needs stability, not news stories.ACC and ND football have no relationship whatsoever. ND Football plays 5 ACC programs every year. That's the relationship which makes it worth it to the ACC. This year ND played at bcu, at Pitt, at Stanford. Next year ND plays at UNC, at cuse. Those games are big draws.ACC and ND football have no relationship whatsoever. Would ND be giving the ACC any of the money they'd get if the ACC lobbied for them and successfully?
