That was a few years ago.It didn't seem to bother those who voted to add them to the B-12.
I bet Utah and Colorado would be OK with us. Utah likes being associated with liberal universities because they're the anti-BYU. We fit Colorado culturally more than a lot of current members. UCF is probably anti-UConn because they have some sort of complex. Cinci is probably a toss up. Kansas probably wants us and Arizona and Arizona State would probably want us. West Virginia would be a definite yes. They want more East CoastOK so let's play a game...if feelings are mixed, which schools are for and against us? My guess:
For:
Basketball schools who would want a blue blood like us:
Old conference foes who would open to reunion:
- Kansas
- Houston
- Arizona
- Baylor
- Arizona
- WVU
- Cincy
- UCF
Against:
Bigger time football schools who would oppose our football program:
I have literally don't have a clue what they are thinking:
- Utah
- Oklahoma State
- Kansas State
- TCU
- Texas Tech
- Colorado
- Arizona State
- BYU
That has to be one of the central arguments in Yormark's case for UConn.I see a world where taking us off the board could have a similar albeit much smaller effect. If we were Big XII bound then that's one less team for the ACC to backfill with
Our potential in football is very limited because we're a Northeast school + we prioritize basketball. All of these conferences would probably add OSU, WSU, Memphis, Tulane, Boise, SDSU before even thinking about adding us.I still find it really strange how many schools don't want us to be in their conference. It makes no sense to me when you compare us to a lot of other schools

Just stating absolute facts here. You realize these bozos added the likes of SMU and 2 schools from California to the "Atlantic Coast Conference" over us right?Don't be That Guy.

That move makes no sense to me. From Clemson and FSU it has to be “P2 or bust”.
They basically have to go somewhere now. They can't do all this stuff and then stay in the ACC. Though it would be very funny if the B1G and SEC said thanks but no thanks and all of this was basically for nothingIt makes sense when you consider busting is an option. The Big 12 will make more money than the ACC.
Plus this calls the SEC and B1G’s bluff.
That’s a very expensive decision to go from a conference in which your fans can travel with relative ease to most away games to going to Tucson or most anywhere else in the Big 12. Never mind, it would take years to recoup all the money lost leaving the ACC. Power 2 or bust. The Big 12 is a solid conference with mostly great fanbases, but everyone would be in the SEC or Big 10 if asked. It’s the best of the rest of schools not in the ACC.It makes sense when you consider busting is an option. The Big 12 will make more money than the ACC.
Plus this calls the SEC and B1G’s bluff.
I think still the scenario where both the B1G and SEC pass on these two is on the table. Not sure how much table it has, but it seems possible to me that they have been wishcasting themselves to the P2, particularly Clemson. Both conference have to have tv partners willing to pay way up...again....without a chance to digest the last expansion. They basically have to go somewhere now. They can't do all this stuff and then stay in the ACC. Though it would be very funny if the B1G and SEC said thanks but no thanks and all of this was basically for nothing
The Big 12 has a GOR. Clemson could end up right back where they are now, trying to break a GOR.There’s also no reason they can’t go to the Big 12 as a two year stop gap to going to the B1G or SEC if the B1G and/or SEC aren’t willing to take on the legal risk of adding them to the league straight from the ACC
Pretty sure FSU and Clemson have the leverage to not sign that. Utah didn’t sign it either. The Big 12 has a GOR. Clemson could end up right back where they are now, trying to break a GOR.
Ha- GORs! Those are about to become obsolete when they bind you beyond your nose. Everyone hates discovery- particularly your publicly traded media conglomerates. The Big 12 has a GOR. Clemson could end up right back where they are now, trying to break a GOR.
Why would BIG 12 teams leave to join a weakened ACC conference?Say Clemson and FSU are shunned by the P2. I was thinking about a best of the rest. Obviously this won't happen, but just for ha-ha's, I wonder what something like this version of the Big 12 would be worth. And the ACC would have some openings

Also if FSU and Clemson leave ACC there is a good chance ND leaves as well. NBC would hate that football schedule for ND.Why would BIG 12 teams leave to join a weakened ACC conference?
