Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

The Fear the Wave Blog was smart enough to leave out Southern Miss lest they demonstrate how much BS is in that "report".

Other than Memphis and Boise State being next in line, look for visits and/or discussions to take place with Tulane, SMU and possibly even Southern Mississippi.

Correct. Even before there was an incentive to keep a G5 team out of the top-8; being undefeated was unlikely to be enough, given the number of games in that conference schedule. An undefeated Big XII team is probably ok in a straight-8 format.

2014: #20 Boise (11-2)
2015: #18 Houston (12-1)
2016: #15 Western Michigan (13-0)
2017: #12 UCF (12-0)
2018: #8 UCF (12-0)
2019: #17 Memphis (12-1)
2020: #8 Cincinnati (9-0) -- COVID season

So the G8 can figure they have a shot at the playoff, as the bottom seed; so long as their is a global pandemic or if they have completed their second-straight undefeated season... because those are the only times they've been close.

Again though, that was before there was an incentive to keep G5 schools from being ranked #8... I'm willing to bet Cincy ends up #9 if a straight top-8 would've reached the playoff last year (they were already behind three loss Florida); so yeah if you can go undefeated for two straight seasons, then you might, just might have a chance to be the bottom seed out of the G5 in a straight eight format.

Colorado State past 10-11 years is roughly 51-73. They dropped the past three years in attendance 2017-2019 from 32000 to 23000 a game. I just don’t see why the AAC teams left are getting excited about them. Plus Addazio fell into that job after Boston College sent him packing and the future looks meh with him there. They are delusional to think that they are not losing money on that contract. No one cares about Colorado state out there and ESPN won’t either

Wholeheartedly agree.

They are likely being added as a stipulation by Air Force for joining.

And that shows you desperate if not inept the AAC is. Air Force is considered such a prize that they get to dictate adding CSU?
Air Force is a service academy. They are definitely a prize. Plus, if you can get them, you pick off 2 more MW schools (Wyoming/UNM or Fresno/UNLV) to force the hand of BSU and SDSU to join.

LOL. Wyoming. Dude, just stop. That's even better than your Rice pick.

Wyoming is a front-range state flagship. Rice is in Houston and is one of the top 20 universities in the country.
They add nothing in football and basketball.
Wyoming brings with it the 12 households that live in Wyoming, and Rice has about 5 households in Texas that care about Rice.
but sure dilute everyone else’s shares by adding 2 teams that bring nothing to the table.
Is this Mike Arescis account?

Wyoming is good for 7-8 wins a year on average.

Wyoming’s 7 wins and $3 can get you a Starbucks coffee.

The point is, they do nothing for your TV contract except reduce the shares for everyone else. They don't have a significant following to make them valuable to a streaming service; so if you are adding them, the only thing they really bring to the conference media deal is more inventory of games.

They aren't good enough to make noise and gain the conference publicity or to be a consistent threat in either major sport, so they don't bring value as an attraction, they don't bring a market, or a significantly sized following to sell stream subscriptions too. There where they need to be unless your a conference that simply needs a body to fill out the conference and that Wyoming makes geographical sense to be a team to add.

Butbutbut they're a front-range state flagship! How could you overlook that??
