Especially for unscheduled meetings, an early start with a hard cap gets things done and get you out efficiently.

This, plus folks who serve at this level tend to have busy schedules, and getting a time when they're all free at the same time once the business day starts is difficult.

Agree. He could add us now and then go for the ACC schools once FSU bolts. I wonder if Oregon was offered a discounted amount of money from the big 10.
I have to think that this bulking strengthens Yormark's hand. He never gets to say "well we tried" in brings in his desired candidate.

I’m freaking flabbergasted that cooler, more rational heads might prevail for once in realignment.
Don't believe that for a second. It's the same reactionary process whether it ends up benefiting us or not.

It’s more than that. It’s hardwired in our DNA. The worse species combination is having intelligence while retaining irrational emotional primitive survival needs. We’re one of the few species who react in a life or death manner at things that’s are not life and death or have a poor correlations to it.

To be fair it is frequently difficult to gather all the information necessary to know if something is a real or potentially real threat and even when we do we cannot predict with absolute accuracy all possible outcomes.

That will always exist. But this forum demonstrates how easily we can be pulled away from rational discourse when our emotions ( particularly fear) come into play. And it demonstrates how easy it becomes for those lacking integrity to manipulate that fear.

First of all getting UConn was the biggest prize. I understand why Cuse or UCF fans are in denial but I scratch my head when UConn fans fail to understand this. We put the B12 significantly ahead of other conferences in bb with our addition.

Colorado was a necessity albeit not a bad one. I agree getting Arizona would have solidified it even more but an argument can be made ASU was too big a price to pay.

I rather hope Yormark’s vision proves out, that bb is the biggest untapped money maker for conferences and that the northeast market is under marketed. If the Big12 can capitalize on this and if/when the ACC implodes we can get six better properties from that conference than what U of A and ASU would provide. Or we get U of A alone at a later date.

There is no “vision”. Unless the backup plan is the main prize. And if you are the main prize you are not a backup plan.

Therefore we’re not the main prize. The only way we get in is if the PAC 12 schools back out.

I do think it's possible that for Yormark we are the prize but we were just a backup plan for the presidents.

Yeah, like when FCF is in bed with Jennifer Anniston he's worried about how far down the list he was when the day started.

Again GoKU made clear we were in with Colorado or in with Arizona, ASU and Colorado. We needed one or three to get the even number.

He inferred that Colorado was not the first choice to partner with us ( that was Az) but the most likely acceptable choice to become available.

Our announcement delay was not because the B12 was looking for a replacement for us but because an option came up to get another school of value and it was important to learn how that option could be made to work.

Killing the PAC 12 was the prize. We might be the consolation prize. Which would be great.
